Aldi dehumidier

Trouble is, this is the second unit I have had that behaves this way. I find it hard to believe I have been unlucky enough to have two faulty units delivered, let alone with exactly the same fault.
Well it could be a faulty batch. Our dehumidifier (not from Aldi) has been filling up its tank in 6-7 hours on its lowest setting right now with all the damp weather so collecting a teaspoonful overnight doesn't seem right.0 -
Hi lstar337
I can confirm that mine runs continuously until the bucket is full/until desired humidity is achieved. Whichever comes first. Have it on now.I am assuming that you have done all the troubleshooting checks - not siting it next to a radiator, your bucket is not out of whack etc.I think phoning or emailing Ecoair technical support is your only option.Weird that you would get two duds  Did the replacement unit still have two pieces of tape holding the bucket in place to suggest it was brand new and not a return?0 -

Mine is not from Aldi either, I couldn't get enough info on the Aldi one to make an informed decision about it. I always choose my purchases very carefully. Fat lot of good it did me this time though!:rotfl:0 -
Sounds great! What model is it?

Ours is a Meaco DD8L. It was £125 if I remember correctly and seems pretty good. When I don't have the drain hose connected it pulls water out the air very quickly even on its lowest setting and although it isn't inaudible its fairly quiet - about the volume of a fan heater on its lowest setting. I wouldn't want it in a bedroom but I could probably live with it in a living room noise wise.
Its done the job we need which is to solve our mould problems in one room and I'd be surprised if other dehumidifiers at the same price were much better.0 -

I have contacted EcoAir through a direct number given to me.
TBH, it hasn't been very helpful. Apparently all their technical staff are off on a training exercise, and the guy I spoke to didn't seem to get most of what I was telling him.
They want me to go through the warranty process on their site and report the faults with both units. Once that is done, I should get a response within 48hours, and find out if I have to send it to them for investigation.
That is fine, but I am concerned about losing my ability to just return it for replacement or get my money back. I don't feel I should have to wait for the outcome of an investigation when the unit is less than a day old (to me).
This has already taken more of my time than I deem necessary.:(0 -

Do you think you could get away with returning it under the distance selling regulations? Does it look and feel unused? http://www.breathingspace.co.uk/terms-and-conditions0 -
Although, if you have already spoken to them about the second machine, it is unlikely that they will believe it is unused. Perhaps you can appeal to Breathingspace's good nature and ask if they will collect it for a full refund. The sooner the better too. Tell them you bought it for medical reasons and the dud machines are causing you further distress. I don't think it is fair that you should have to wait for it to be examined by the manufacturer etc. Your mould wont wait
Definitely sounds like you have been very unlucky. Mine has been on since before 10 this morning and is collecting loads and has not switched off once.0 -
