  • If you have been ripped off by TipTopElectronics, (or indeed any online company) please report it by filling in the form at:

    actionfraud.police.uk/home

By doing so, it might bring the perpetrators to justice and indeed prevent someone else becoming a victim of their crime.

    Thanks Karen

I rang the website and spoke to a very helpful fella. I explained my situation, gave all my details and have been assured that the police will embark on an investigation into this company.

The guy also gave me a consumer service hotline number which is 0845 4040506 I shall call them Monday morning.

Just called their office and Druv Chopra ( head honcho ) picked up when I asked for a refund he told me that he doesn't want to refund my money because my negative feedback has cost his company business. After pressing him he finally admitted that the company had ripped me off and told me not to keep calling as I was causing him hassle and that I need to go do what I have to do......how's that for back up and customer service?!!!
  • Anyone had a result yet with this seller?

Checked my bank account and he hasn't credited me with the money I will try and get hold of him again tomorrow.
I am waiting since March for a refund for a lithium battery which he never delivered. He owes me £184.00 which he freely admits. But never refunds.
  • I have been reading these threads with interest. I really do feel I dodged a bullet. I telephoned ahead to make sure that the iPhone 5C was in stock in the UK as I needed it within a short time span. I spoke to Ben and he told me it was. Admittedly, the price seemed too good to be true but I still placed the order using PayPal (which I think was my saviour). The phone didn't arrive when expected. I phoned Ben and he said it had been sent. Upon further calls Ben told me that a person with the same name had ordered the same iPhone and mine was due for despatch any day. I told him I wanted to cancel as I was becoming nervous. He said he would refund immediately - which he didn't. I then escalated a claim with PayPal for non delivery. A couple of days later the phone arrived but I was still concerned and upon PayPal's advice, the told me to accept it (sign for it) and then return it using special delivery. I returned the phone the same day and as soon as it was signed for (by Ben), PayPal refunded my money. With the number of issues, I'm surprised PayPal have not closed their account. I am also surprised to see that you can now pay via Amazon.
  • I think you definitely had a lucky escape NorthernMonkey7!
We submitted an application via the small claims court, and are waiting to see if they pay up - highly unlikely, so it will invariably be taken to the next step...
The important thing is to never give up or they will simply carry on ripping people off..
I'm surprised that the company has not yet been shut down.
Please keep reporting to Action Fraud so that no one else falls into the same trap..

    Hey folks

I'm back with my latest update and its good news!

After pursuing TipTop through the courts and obtaining a judgement against them they still refused to pay. My next course of action was to issue a warrant ( bailiffs) who subsequently visited the property and wrote back telling me that there was nothing worth taking. Is all their office contained was two knackered sofas and a laptop computer so I decided to go back to court to try and obtain what is known as a third party debt order ( which the judge granted me ). The order effectively froze Tiptop's bank account and demanded their building society to pay the original sum that I paid for my projector plus my court costs, money for the warrant and an extra £100 for the TPDO.

I think the whole lot came in at almost £3,679, the sum of which I received via cheque from their HSBC bank account.

Good luck to anyone else who has the determination to pursue these rats, although it took a bit of time and extra money I have to say that the final result was more than worth the hassle......not just to recoup my financial losses, also there was a principal at stake.

    Darren
  • Good news Darren, at long last!

Unbelievable amount of hassle to get back what was due, but well done for your perseverance.

Hopefully others will follow your lead & not give up (which seems like what tiptop hope people will do)
Fingers crossed any potential purchasers eventually get wise about their underhand tactics & then this seller decides to pack it in.
