Now I now what they are I agree they were probably stolen. Also they weren't as interesting as you'd think. Money- I'm not quite sure why you've been so cagey about them, you could easily have said what type of thing they were without identified what it was

True ...as in its not "interesting" items. But I'm being a bit "cagey" about saying because I have no way of knowing if the removal firm concerned read MSE and have to assume they do.....

If I identify the items concerned, then said firm might start getting too "shirty" to give me the compensation due to me. We do, after all, live in "Politically Correct Times" where the offender has a distinct tendency to try and complain that the "victim" is getting upset about what they did to them....

All this blinkin' stuff that seems to be going round these days about expecting "victims" to "shut up and put up" or the "offender" will have another "go" at them is one of the nastier 21st Century Things. Hence part of the reason for my moving to a less "politically correct" part of the country...because that's one of the things I didn't like about my previous area...

A regular MSE poster hit the nail bang straight on the head in a recent comment to me about being somewhere where people have "shared values" to me.

I read this thread a few days ago and was curious what could have gone missing and now even more so. If you aren't too sick of send PM's I would love to know.

I really hope you either get the items back or get compensated for them. I hope it wasn't something with a lot of sentimental value. I know I've lost things that weren't worth much but meant an awful lot to me due to the memories they bought back.

I've recently moved as well but as I moved out of a furnished rental I had very little to move so decided to pack everything myself. I was just glad I managed to do the move without breaking anything!

Now wondering whether the removal firm concerned is indeed reading this thread and suspecting that its them I'm talking about....in which case they aint a gonna' be any too happy at being a laughing stock courtesy of the type of staff they employ (at least sometimes....)...

Had an email from them with a complaint form...time will tell whether I get my due compensation or no...

    We shall see.......

Stuff the compensation ....Just go for 50p a PM, and you'll have a buy-to-let to add to your property portfolio in no time. Or you could set up the MITSTM hotline on 0898 80085 700 ....

I shall continue to resist requesting... I haz willpower... so far.... just... enough... willpower...

I do hope the removal firm give final satisfaction... were they BAR registered by any chance? I have had recourse to BAR on one occasion (David Dale Removals played up), and BAR were surprisingly proactive for a Trade organisation.

    resist.... resist... resist...

That is really upsetting that people live in this world that can do that. Did you report it to the police?
  • if you don't get the outcome you deserve , I would name and shame the removal company,

like I have said to you , I doesn't matter what has been stolen, theft is theft and they shouldn't get away with it , removal men are in a position of trust,

just out of interest which county in gods country are you finding it less "politically correct"
I am thinking you are in the north, Gwynedd maybe,
that is purely a guess going off your location
