Thanks for the thought Kazwookie, but the system doesn't work quite like that. OH and I talked about it yesterday, and there really is nothing I can do to protect against it. On a more positive note, we did have a late booking for the chalet for next week, so that mitigates some of the losses.

Laundry up to date, ironing sort of abandoned, and Mrs Dog has finally settled after a bad start to the day. I think I may have to have a conversation with the vet about the diagnosis - I'd expected an improvement by now and it doesn't seem to be happening. Thinking of Jazee's SickDog and Sparrer's dog and channelling healing vibes.

Hi Valli  Lovely to see you posting, and getting involved in things thespian. Autograph please dahling *mwah* *mwah*

Briefly as I'm just going out of the door -
Will be out today so only basics done.
Dog let me brush him gently for a few minutes, he's long haired so really needs to be done every day or he gets all tangly
The mop handle broke so the kitchen floor didn't get done last night and was too late to do it properly, ie hands and knees, so will look for one while I'm out.
Have a sunny day whatever the weather :)

Pigpen I just love the name Poppy! Wow, 11 children, amazing! You must feel very blessed (and busy!). !

Poppy isn't mine, she is my daughters friends little girl, she is nearly 5 months old and has severe heart problems, Leaky valves and hole in her heart .. she has had 2 major operations and they didn't think she would survive the last one and she is just doing great :D My little tiddler is 9 weeks.

I am very blessed and my house is crazy town!!! I only have 9 at home.. my older 2 have littlies of their own. I have a feeling DD2 will be heading for the big wide world quite soon too :(

Well I've been non-stop since I last posted but can tick nothing off the list

Emergency trip run to Argos for a new SC cos mine gave up the Ghost - it served me well though. Then Aldi for SC meal ingredients for this week, then Asda for a few bits Aldi didn't have, came back, unpacked, concocted Chicken Casserole and bunged it in the new love of my life....I :heartpuls Slow Cookers. Got 1 load in the WM, and sorted the rest into piles, kept the box from the SC to use as a Beauty Hamper for Christmas :money: (will wrap in paper then cover in Cello and a big bow) took some stuff upstairs, fed the Dog and the Cat, tidied up the pan cupboard :T tidied the kitchen (but not cleaned yet) and collected all the recycling.

    Now for the list :D

    Feel better soon Susan x

    Afternoon all

A very damp day here so WM1 on the maiden.

I've made Tom soup and cooked some apples to make a pudding later. DH oiled the long worksurface last night so I've wiped everything and put it all back too.

    Plan:
    ebay a few bits
    check bank accounts
    do HHPaperwork
collect DS3 from work and get a few bits at the same time
    HHI later
    Petmeds order

Oh bless her pigpen, sure a little fighter then - great to hear! I know a little about heart problems, as my cat has a faulty valve and a few other problems, but nothing like what a baby must go through. Amazing that she is doing so well.

Congratulations on your tiddler :) Oh it goes so fast doesn't it! My husband is one of 6, with 1 who has sadly passed, I am one of 4, both our parents have experienced the children leaving home now (just 1 left at my in-laws, who is going off to uni next year I think) and 3 of my in-laws left home around the same time my husband did so think my MIL has found it hard to adapt! Although never a quiet day, even after all the kids have left!

I can't wait to have children (if it ever works out). Some days I feel blessed just to have scraped through the day though so children will come in time :D

If anyone hasn't posted about their challenge this week, can you let me know if you've spent any time on it. Remember, this isn't necessarily about the destination, the journey is just as important. Any breakthrough however small should be celebrated :T
Hi Bossy. I managed a wax bath for my paws (all 4 of 'em lol) after Hugo & Dylan went home - it's not something you can do with dogs present, as they'd have their little noses in the hot wax as likely as not. Also dug out some lip salve to use. Does this count?:o

Been busy this weekend - HM mincemeat made yesterday, and today I made 2 Yule puds; going to make 2 more tomorrow, on the basis that they make a good desert course on any cold winter's day, so making a good supply is the plan.;)

We've also been to @ldi, then on to Mr T for the bits I couldn't get in @ldi (vegetarian suet and drinking chocolate); and we've just had veggie toad-in-the-hole with M@rmite gravy for lunch.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Hope no one was hurt, froddington.

I've also done some sewing! I've sewn a button inside the cuff of each coat sleeve, and a button onto the cuff of the gloves / mitts. Then I'm attaching them with some of that elastic from adjustable waist trousers :T its already got button holes in it hurrah so just a case of cutting to the right length and buttoning on either end. And reusable too!

What a great idea:beer: Was going to order some of those things Pigpen posted bit this is much more:money: Did you buy the elastic or just take it out of an old pair?

    So can I :D:D:D

Little Poppy has been home from hospital for a whole week! She hadn't managed more than 4 days in a row from being born so this is amazing. She still has her NG tube because she has become reluctant to feed.. she was too ill to feed herself so they tubefed her while she was very poorly and now she has forgotten how to do it.. but she is gaining weight for the first time in weeks.... big clever girl! She was 10lb at birth and went right down to 7lb and she is now 8lb she she is doing fantastic!
    :j That's great news Pigpen.

SusanSorry to hear you're not well after visiting the show. I am closer to Harrogate and have had details through but have decided that seeing as I haven't had much supply work through yet I should use up what I already have:o
Frodders Sorry to hear about your car but glad you ok

We are having a very lazy day. I have marked a few things off, henried downstairs again as I did DH's hair again. The clippers have now paid for themselves:money:
My dad may be coming home on Tuesday if his chest infection clears up and the slight pneumonia he has goes away. I am shattered with worrying in and hospital visiting. Got 2 days work m, t so need to sort lunches and school bags later but now time for a :coffee: and then a spot of knitting while the kids appear to be on the computers upstairs with DH:)
