Thanks Sefilby the Glamour Mag definately didn't include a Body Shop gift card so I complainted to Galmour mag and then the next day I decided just to take the mag back to the shop. The shop gave me the money back and then when I got home Galmour had emailed me to say they would send me a gift card in the post. Result! It was a bit of a hassle though and disappointing.
Bought a Keep Calm mug from a charity shop today and I am going to use it to make a cosy hamper.
Of to Pr1mark tomorrow to get some cozy socks, pyjamas etc for my sis.
I noticed on a recent email flyer that p1land are doing a selection of stocking fillers. Might get some of them in December. DD likes to get DH a present so I thought I could give her a budget of say a £5 and she can get a stocking and 4 little presents - she will love that!:jCompetition wins £14,136.30[\COLOR]0 -

ooh LuckyPenny - hadn't thought of that one! I got loads of wrapping paper from Ik3a last year so fully stocked there but will need ribbons to make it all pretty!!! Hadn't put that in my budget! Eeek!!
Just did a tescimo shop though and got the final stuff for hampers - for free!!!!! :j:j:j Had a 20 pound off 40 pound shop voucher so used that and got:
ma:
turkish delight
nan:
crystallised ginger
champagne truffles
OH's dad:
toffee/fudge selection box
Ma's OH:
4 pack of 'british ales'
so still got 70-odd quid left to buy:
nan: cream - checked and it's 23 quid at Boots
OH's parents - bottle of whiskey (25 quid - done a mysupermarket alert on their favourite whiskey so hopefully it will go down in price!)
something else for OH's ma and pa (small each - 10 quid each)
'man' hamper for my brother - sweets, and a gaming magazine, and maybe some primarni small things! - 15 quid budget limit
ribbons - 5 quid max
stamps for xmas cards - 5 quid (they're so expensive now!!!!):eek:
On track! Just need to keep the OH away from all the hamper stuff - it's all so tasty!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Debts @ LBM (May 2013): £25,250.27 | Debt Free: May 2015 :j:j0 -
Oh yeah I never thought about it either -
It's completely up to you if you wish to count it or not.
I am just so I can total up everything and keep track of what I've brought. In that case £4.50 spent on wrapping paper & a gift box.
Also I'm super happy now.
I had a soft toy of a tiger and a happy feet 2 keyring I had left over from my ex's christmas presents and had no one to give to, well I found someone - My "Cosuin" if her mum thinks its suitable for her age.
(She's not really my cousin because her mum and dad are my dad's best friends but they've been in my life since before I was born so I count them as my family.)SavingsRepayment: £0/£359.00

Primarni shop for OH's little presents is due soon but I hate tackling the shop (Oxford Street is my closest one) - I might need to schedule an early Saturday morning shop to beat the crowds.:eek::eek: Wish me luck!
Good luck cottage_retreatist!:jProud to have dealt with my debt, DFD 6th May 2015 :j

Still not made a real start here, although OH starts work on Monday, which is a relief that he's got a job, but we think he will only get a small wage and then the next one won't be until after Christmas
I had a little brain wave, we don't really drink (alcohol) but we have loads of bottles of wine that we seem to collect I suggested to my OH that we get some Christmas puddings and give them and a bottle to his brothers and parents making sort of mini celebration hamper, any other suggestions to go with these?
I've now completed the hat to match the mittens for my niece and have made a hat for my mum. I'm thinking I might make another hat and mittens for my younger niece and possibly OH's daughters, just to pad out their gifts.
My mum likes to buy those expensive looking gift boxes of smellies which I am sure can be done cheaper buying the products separately so I am thinking of doing that for my side or possibly the celebration hampers. It takes the pressure off a bit.
Hope all your planning is going better than mine!new challenge?£1 a day for Christmas 2024 £367 / £366 ~Got married 24/05/19 ~ Credit CardDFW Nerd #1155 ~LBM 25/2/09 ~ Debt at highest £8,037.35 ~ £00 -

The fact that you've saved that much is VERY impressive - massive pat on the back :T I wish I was able to do that!!
I do try and save but can't seem to hold on to any of it! Been paying out for courses/exams fees/car/kids etc. always end up with empty pockets!!
If thats what you wish to spend then thats you're choice - you don't have to spend it all and you may even be able to get yourself a treat or have money left at the end when you've finished buying presents.Christmas budget £266.38/£535 15/27gifts
