Ok so I fell foul of ebay yesterday ... go carried away with a bid. My little boy is a mega Toy story fan & there was a set of 9 toys I ended up winning with £36 bid + £4 P&P having checked other sites I would be paying a minimum £7.99 for each toy so I have saved myself a few pennies against retail price. But I also had a bid on a leappad game BNIP £9.25 incl P&P. so my totals have now rocketed - £221.61 spent
    Christmas budget £266.38/£535 15/27gifts

    Wow! Everyone's been really busy

    Update; £92.34/£250.00
purchased the boys/mens toiletry sets today. LynX currently £3 at T**co (until 24th -I think) So got these today. For friends son I will bake some cookies to go with that.

Kdalwayskint - Good idea with the hampers -I was going to suggest some luxury chocs or something similar.
    Back on the trains again!

  • I think in hindsight, I should have saved a bit through the year! I do for my car, I save each month to cover the car tax and a little bit extra 'just in case' and that works.

So from January's pay I will start for next year, work out a budget and get it transferred straight to my Christmas fund, I hate not being able to start really shopping! :(
    new challenge?
    £1 a day for Christmas 2024 £367 / £366 ~
Got married 24/05/19 ~ Credit Card
    DFW Nerd #1155 ~
    LBM 25/2/09 ~ Debt at highest £8,037.35 ~ £0
  • Sounds like a good idea. I have 2 accounts now: savings and a normal spending account.

Would I be able to have 2 more - I need one for emergency funds and for Christmas/gifts/rainy day

    Can I join in OP.

For the last few years, I have a little notebook and I write down everyone I need to buy for, ideas, actual spends etc. However, I was on maternity leave this year and due to reduced income am much further behind than I would have liked, so I need to play catch up rather quickly.

I normally buy stocking fillers for the children (and OH) throughout the year, using grabbits, sales, freebies etc

I will update my list of spends later.
  • Sure just post away. X
