I brought my dad a proper present yesterday!
It was a t-shirt for £8 and I brought my youngest cousin some earrings.
I also brought a gift box to put mums christmas presents in,
though she thinks its for my sister as we needed her advice -
On the back of the box it said nest of 5 boxes, and then all the boxes had different prices so we weren't sure if they were separate or £2.50 for 5 boxesSavingsRepayment: £0/£359.00

Almost halfway through my budget. DD wants an iPad but I've managed to convince her to go for another cheaper tablet called an Asus tablet - anyone know if this is any good? It's half the price of a mini iPad and when I go and buy it I am going to try and haggle and get the case thrown it- I can but try.
I was reading the recent MSE newsletter and if you buy the Glamour magazine you get a free nail varnish (think this is normally worth a tenner) and minimum of a £3 Bodyshop Voucher - was thinking this would be good for my niece.
Thanks Jonsey and everyone for comments about Pr1mark I think I might give that a go for some nightwear for my sis.
Who was it that got cycling stuff for their DH? What did you get and where from - spend seems quite low and my father-in-law is a cyclist.Competition wins £14,136.30[\COLOR]0 -
Please can i join?
I've already bought a few things - i have an online savings account which i round down the balances of my other accounts to (im a bit OCD and like round figures!). I also put in £co and e3ay earnings in there. I'm hoping for a cost neutral christmas through this - ambitious i know! Current balance is £5.07.
So here's my list: (i too buy for my side and DH buys for his but we keep an eye out for each others)
DH: £26/£40 - cycling outfit, hat and shaving set thingy from boots
Mum: £30/£30 - Leather purse & flipflops both bought on holiday, S&G set - DONE
Dad: 0/£30
Best Friend 1: £3.75/£5 - E3ay bargains! Funky necklance & vintage earrings - DONE
Best Friend 2: 0/£5
Total budget: £120 Spent so far: £59.75 Remaining: £60.25
I may have to get a works secret santa gift but this is undecided. Usually i have an auntie and cousin to buy for but they are feeling the pinch so we've agreed cards only. Finally last year i bought some kids toys for charity for those who would otherwise have nothing to unwrap on Christmas Day - funds allowing i'd like to do this again.
Ps: i cant resist christmas chocolate either so have to buy it as late as possible!
Jonesy - what cycling outfit did you get? Where from and how much? ThanksCompetition wins £14,136.30[\COLOR]0 -

The voucher is literally a green card the size of a bank card - you have to take it in to a Body shop store & they tell you how much is on it. Maybe get them to print off a receipt/balance summary to put with it? Just so you know how much is on it - never know might be one of the lucky few to bag the top money!Christmas budget £266.38/£535 15/27gifts

I think it was on page 165 or around that area - green card stuck on with a glue dot. Nipped into Body shop to check value of mine it was £3but hey £3 off plus a nail varnish for a £2 mag I'm not losing out! Don't see how they can tell how much is on it though ... couldn't see any type of reference number on it or anything :undecided

Hello everyone!
Not done quite as well as I had hoped by this point but here goes:
Managed to get the magazine subscription for my ma - actually did find it as a special special special offer of 22 quid for the year direct debit (must remember to cancel that once it goes out!)
That was just cheaper than doing it for 25 quid and getting cashback at 5%!! She wanted a specific one so that was the best cashback offer available!
got my nan a bottle of Tescimo's own brand cream sherry for 3.80! nice!
and got 3 small pannetones for 1 quid each to go in my 3 hampers.
So - hampers almost done - big present for ma done
need to get nan some No7 protect and perfect - might check out my boots card - haven't checked the balance for years!
and need to get OH's parents some small things and then we're done!
Hopefully we'll come in at 100 quid which is better than expected! Whoop!!
Need to do more though or it'll get to December at this rate and I'll only have 1 present!:eek:
Spends so far:
Mum: £22 (magazine subs)
Nan: £3.80 (alcohol!)
Hampers: £3.00
Total so far: £28.80
Total left: £71.20
Primarni shop for OH's little presents is due soon but I hate tackling the shop (Oxford Street is my closest one) - I might need to schedule an early Saturday morning shop to beat the crowds.:eek::eek: Wish me luck!Debts @ LBM (May 2013): £25,250.27 | Debt Free: May 2015 :j:j0 -
I really need to write al the presents I got for people and how much for.
I have a feeling I spent over my budget but I'm not sure as some stuff was for my ex & his family.
I brought my dad some more presents.
A McKenzie bag - £12
A small tape measure key ring - He's always "gotta do a proper job" hehe
and a joke book that had"dad" jokes in for £9.99
So not bad everything is getting done bit by bit,
My uncles thundercats colour changing mug arrived
but not my other uncles camera lens mug
Still waiting on it though it does come from Hong Kong heheSavingsRepayment: £0/£359.00
