  • Hi Danielley

I am on my 5th round of Clomid and the only side effect I have are extreme heat levels at night! I wake up covered in sweat. Nice hey! I did read that some people may get a bit bunged up but I've not got that problem. Guess we all react differently to it. I wouldn't worry personally x

Hi danielle, sorry if I've misread but are we talking number 2 here? If so, it could just be some unrelated constipation maybe.

If in doubt, drink loads of water and see if that helps!

    Hi all,

Quick update and a whinge from me.

    First - docs went well.

(Quick background. I had surgery to remove my cervix earlier this year for cancer. Since then it looks like I have been retaining some blood as the new artificial 'cervix' linking womb and vagina is too narrow and/or just not quite right. It seems to be getting worse with time as scar tissue accumluates from the surgery too. I wanted to start IVF, but the IVF guys won't do it as they say it simply won't work with blood in there. Also the narrow cervical area means they can't to an embryo transfer normally. There are other solutions to the ET issue - ie via massive needle injection through the abdomen, which I'm fine with, but they won't even try until the blood issue is resolved. This narrowing or blocking of the cervical canal is called stenosis)

He still isn't completely convinced that the stenosis is happening at all, but is planning a surgery to at least widen the new cervical canal so the IVF guys are happy. Plus he said he will leave a coloured stitch to mark it so they can find it! He said he would also consider inserting a coil, as this keeps the canal open, but only as a last resort. While I am under he will maybe remove another stitch that is in there, do a hysteroscopy to check for problems in the womb, and generally poke around. I'm guessing he'll look to see that the cancer is still staying away, although I had an MRI in July which was clear.

It will be good to have one of these examinations done under a general at least.

(Tea, I can feel your jealousy of the GA!)

So, not completely clear, but at least this will make the IVF people happy and I can move forward. The plan would be to go STRAIGHT to IVF following surgery, as it should be done quickly to make sure any work to open the canal etc doesn't get ruined by scar tissue again. I'm waiting to hear from the IVF clinic today to make proper plans.

Surgery on 21st of October, so I could potentially be joining our October IVF group. I'm really pleased to be moving forward. :) My life is so different to a year ago... who knew I would look forward to uncertain surgery so much!

On a seperate note - my whinge is about my body currently. It's playing games with me!! I'm late... a couple of days only, but I know I ovulated at least 16 days ago - positive OPK on Monday night, and then definite EWCM (which I don't have much of) on Tuesday lunchtime. OV symptoms, and then a negative OPK on tuesday. So I'm 99% sure that was ov. So where is AF?! I would love to hope it's pregnancy, but I just can't bring myself to believe it. I'm pretty regular, but post surgery ov has been a bit less predictable, but normally still a pretty regular ov day + 14 days. It's not the stenosis, as if that was the case I'd be getting full on cramps, but just no blood - in this case I'm (until today) just getting zero symptoms. I've been really busy and stressed, so that could delay it.

I'm sure writing this will mean AF will show up in minutes, but the longer it stays away, the more I can't help hoping - which we all know leads to a major crash!

You know me so well :D. Great news that things are finally happening, always nice to have a plan! I really hope that it does turn out to be v good news this month.... fingers crossed :).

Ladies, I am crying with laughter here. I work in occupational health for an engineering company.... v boring stuff, checking their eyesight/hearing is ok, keeping an eye on blood pressure... nothing interesting.

I've just opened a letter that arrived for the Dr and it's an invitation to a conference called..... wait for it....."Premature Ejaculation - A Matter of Timing!" :rotfl:. A whole conference, with printed invites, lunch, and certificates for attending :rotfl:.

Have absolutely no idea what that has to do with our company, but opening that just after #penisbeaker has finished me off for the day :D:rotfl:.

#penisbeaker had me in hysterics last night. Teehee at the premature ejaculation conference.

    Fingers crossed t2d.

Good luck pm. Hope that follie has listened to the cheers.

First day back in the office for me today and I'm already PO'd. Thankfully I'm on a phased return so shouldn't be in too long. No idea where I'm at in my cycle.

  • Oh my, just popped by sneakily (sat in a conference) to see how everyone was doing, saw penis beaker reference so googled it as didn't know what it was. Now trying not to crack up and draw attention to myself :rotfl:

People really do that?! *Shakes head in disbelief* :rotfl:

Oh T2D, b*gger CD1! It really is always just when we've dared to get our hopes up isn't it?!

Is that a good sign (in that it can 'get out')?

    Big hugs x.
