Hey ladies,
Sorry I have been missing in action lately!
PM - sorry to read this isn't going quickly for you this time either! I have my fingers crossed for you.
RG - so sorry it didn't work out for you. X
Purcy and Derby - Congratulations! Fab news.
Tea - where are you?! Xxx
T2D - hope the recovery from surgery is going ok?
Sewit - good luck!
On my phone and can't remember who asked about the day 21 bloods?
I've had loads of these done! I'm not sure about the thyroid result but the progesterone was a little low. Mine have been 3,3,2,40, and 4. The last 3 results on clomid, each a higher dose than the next. My FS told me that above 30 suggests ovulation but they like to see a figure above 50 to confirm it.
Welcome to all the new ladies, although I wish you weren't here.
Code - I'm so sorry to hear your bad news, that's really really crap! And I totally know what you mean when you feel like your grieving. I feel the same. It's losing the family you thought you'd have, and the easy way others can just do it!
Can I be updated to say ( FS Appointment 5th Feb 2014 )

Week 4 on Metformin and I have upped the dose to 1500mg now. I've been feeling pretty crap on it, very nauseous and not wanting to eat much. Which I guess is how it helps with weight loss!
In starting back on the diet I know works this Wednesday coming, and I'm hoping I can lose a stone before my appointment. I just have to keep thinking in doing this for a baby.

Hi ladies I wonder if I can join you.
Im 39 and been to docs yesterday as been ttc for 2 years. Doctor was lovely and supportive and has given me forms for blood test at 21 days and 3-5 days. I can do 21 day blood test no problem but 3-5 day blood test falls over christmas period so guessing hospitals wont be open to analyse. Can I do these over 2 cycles ie 21 day test this month and 3-5 day test next month or do they have to be done during same cycle?
Doctor also referring me to hospital - she mentioned scan. Does anyon know what this first appt entails? Apparently my trust does not offer ivf but hospital will refer me to neighbouring trust that offers 1 cycle. I wasnt expecting to be offered anything due to my age and also I have children already but with an ex. Doctor told me only kids with current partner mean you wont get offered ivf on nhs. Does anyone know if this is correct as ill be heartbroken if hospital tell me something different so want to prepare myself mentally if this islikely to be the case0 -
Mrs davo met is evil on the stomach isn't it. Are you on the normal or slow release one.
My ovaries are so hard of hearing, I want to try surgery but been told no. I wonder if that might waken them up.0 -
Bewildered welcome from what little Know I gather if either partner has kids even from a previous relationship you won't qualify for nhs funding0

I've no idea PM lol, I think it's normal?! Yeah it's been evil! But I'm hopefully coming out the other side now.
Bewildered, welcome. I can help with the kids question. Although I don't know if it's different in different areas? But I have a child with another partner, and my OH also has a child from another relationship, and we are not entitled to NHS IVF/ICSI or anything. We have been given clomid though, and my FS said there were more options open to is if this didn't work although she didn't specify what else we can be offered.
In the forms you fill in if either of you have a child that lives with you, whether by your current partner or not then you don't qualify.
Sorry :-( xx0 -
isla_red - no slap, but hope you are not disappointed. x
Thanks SewIt. Not disappointed just feeling very silly and embarrassed
No AF today but no doubt will appear over the weekend. Such was my enthusiasm I tested and got a BFN.Got the letter today confirming first consultant appointment in early Jan so that's me back in reality mode.
Congratulations on your news Purcy!
Sorry you're missing out this time Peonie, hope the month flies by for you!
Hope those headaches stuff off soon PM
Hugs to everyone who needs them.Sealed Pot Challenge #9550 -

I must say I was surprised when doctor said we would get ivf. You mentioned if the children live with you. Is the situation different if they dont ie you just have contact with them? My children are older ( had them young) and they actually live with their dad I have regular contact with them. Ditto my partners children.
Does anyone know about the bloods? Do they need to be done in same cycle or can they be done over two cycles ie 21 day this month and 3-5 next month?0 -
Where abouts do you live bewildered, just county? As I'm not sure if it's different in different areas, our form said live with you, but others I've seen it's if you have any children. Let me know what county and I'll see if I can find out for you.
Not 100% on the bloods question, I had mine done in the same cycle, but I can't see why it would matter to have them done in a separate one? Can you give the docs a call on Monday and ask?0 -
Mrs davo I hope your coming out the other end, it been about 8 years since I've been on met. I've been on both the normal and slow release.0

Hi bewildered I didn't have any blood tests in the same month so it's not essential to do both in the same month. Unfortunately my CCG also doesn't fund IUI/IVF/ICSI if a couple has any living children. Different areas have different criteria, Infertility Network UK has links to every CCG's infertility funding criteria. I've not heard of people being referred across CCG boundaries. The biscuit will only dare to be just a biscuit when it is with its true friend the potato. (Edward Monkton) :beer:0
