They're keeping me in over night so I can be monitored & not just left alone at home but I'm pretty worried. The dr said it's common & it's just a precaution but I just wish this wasn't happening.
  • thank you for the update Claire, you've been on my mind all day. Hopefully you are able to rest up whilst they monitor you and get back to high spirits x

  • Thinking of you Claire - you must be going out of your mind! If the dr said it's common then hopefully that's a little bit of a relief.

Thinking of you claire - take comfort in the dr's words that it's just a precaution. I know, easy for me to say!

I do hope that you can try to relax later and get some sleep. Hope you have plenty of people around you for support.... xx

  • Hope things are ok Claire. At least with them observing you it might help them give you more of an explanation. Sending hugs your way xx

Hope everything is okay Claire, sorry that you are having to deal with this. Not nice that you are being kept in but it's the best place to be so that you can be monitored. Hope you get some reassurance tomorrow and get back home.

    I'm very nervous about tomorrow.

:grouphug: Thinking of you Claire and hoping that they're able to give you some answers and reassurance in the morning.

I'm going to add my personal experience in white so you can decide whether it's helpful or not to read it, I know how annoying other people's "insights" can be, at least this way you can choose whether to pay it any mind or not :o

On the ward we regularly see women (at least 3 or 4 a week) who experienced bleeding in the second, and less often, third trimesters and aside from when it's due to placenta location, there's usually no reason given for the bleeding. Having said that, we see these women on the postnatal ward with healthy babies and usually after a straightforward labour so the lack of a diagnosis doesn't necessarily mean anything serious although it's obviously worrying for the Mum.

If they aren't able to find a reason for the bleed (have they done another VE, doppler and scan?) then they're likely to just suggest you take it easy and try not to worry - but if you want to, you can insist on seeing a consultant and push for further scans later in the pregnancy to check everything's progressing well and there are no problems developing with the placenta, etc. In the vast, vast majority of cases everything's going to be fine, but don't let them dismiss your concerns if you're worried. Fortunately it sounds as though your local hospital are pretty good anyway.

Sorry if none of that was helpful, sending you lots and lots of positive wishes.
