Ooh a few scans coming up... good luck ladies!
If you are lurking Mrs TM, you and your DH are firmly in our thoughts.
I am feeling very organised at the moment. We have mostly everything needed for the baby and have spent less than £500 (a few bits from when DS was a baby). Just need a cot matress and moses basket matress. Picking up the travel system at the weekend (gone for mamas and papas sola). MIL turned up on Sunday with a HUGE bag full of next clothes in 0-3 months. I think she bought the entire collection! It's so lovely of her, i managed to get a few bundles of newborn clothes from ebay too so they have been washed and put away and we have enough clothes for the first 3 or 4 months i think. Oh and got 10 muslins for £2 on ebay too, some of them are blue but i'm not really fussed!
I have been buying the odd packet of breast pads/maternity pads/baby wipes/cotton wool and toiletries with the monthly shop since we found out so i think i will carry on doing that as i dont really notice the cost when it's just £10 added to the big shop.
I have signed up to amazon family as we use amazon quite a lot and the amazon prime membership is useful as well as the money off nappies etc. It's free for 3 months.
I have bedding stuffed in storage all over the house so need to dig it out to see if there is any baby type bedding in there (for some reason i feel the need to keep several duvets plus associated bedding incase of visitors staying over...doesnt actually register that we can't have visitors because there is nowhere to put them due to the soon to be 4 children in the house!)
Hope everyone is well.0 -
oh god Mrs TM, I really am incredibly shocked and saddened to read your devastating news. I hope you are bearing up ok and imagine you are still in shock. am thinking of you and your OH at this awful time.
I've been off thread for a while as have been pretty poorly (although it almost seems silly posting this now in light of the above). had a lovely few days in Edinburgh but unfortunately have had severe gastroenteritis since then. after not being able to hold even water down for 24 hours, we called 111 and eventually got asked to come in to the emergency doctor as they were concerned about baby (this was at 2am on Friday night!). to cut a long story short, all is ok (we even got to hear baby's heartbeat for the first time when they checked that), but am still a bit weak and recovering. I also missed my DH's 40th birthday party on Sat night as couldn't even get out of bed at that point - rubbish, but not the end of the world, clearly.
hope everyone else is doing ok! fingers crossed for all the scans coming up soon x.0 -
I have to leave this thread this week and head over to the main one :eek:
24 weeks this week and still not decided on nursery furniture. But on Sunday night we did clear out the room of all the stuff I had stored in there.
Everyone keeps rolled up carpet, box for the microwave and Christmas tree in their spare room dont they??0 -

I only read the first 6 words of your post and started to worry something bad had happened againbut it's OK, so yay to being 24 weeks!
Hmmm OK, I have rolled up carpet down the side of my fridge, the old burnt microwave in its box on the kitchen floor and the christmas tree in bin bags in my bedroom waiting to go in my parents attic!
Little bit jealous of all this talk of nursery furniture, we live in a one bed cottage (but the bedroom is mahoosive) and as OH's two jobs are a zero hours contract and temp work through agencies, we are going to hold off moving until he gets a permanent job or at least until we have some savings to cover increased rent if his work stops. Not ideal, but I keep reassuring myself that it will be fine as baby will sleep in a moses basket by the side of our bed for the first few months anyway, we have wardrobe space to hang clothes and can get a big set of ikea drawers to store baby stuff in.
20+2 xx
PS Becsxxx sounds awful, take it easy and hope you feel better soon x0 -
Becsxxx make sure you rest up and I hope you're feeling better soon
Chelsea the first few words of your post made my heart skip a beat too! After mrstm I'm just on edge and feel very protective over everyone on this thread now!!! I will be joining you in a few days, I'll be 24 weeks on Sunday! Can't believe how quick it's gone!
We are living at OH's parents temporarily whilst we buy our new home, so we've got stuff shoved into every nook and cranny. Can't wait for everything with our home to go through so we have our own place to put everything! Can't wait to decorate the nursery mostly!! Am going for a Winnie the Pooh theme so if anyone spots any Winnie the Pooh bargains on their travels let me know!
23 weeks and 2 days today!Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T
Maternity leave fund: £3000/£6000 :T0 -
MrsTM - I am still thinking of you, hubby and dale, you are in our hearts. I have just read your post on the MC thread and would feel odd posting there, but you say you're still reading here, so just wanted to say I think you're very brave and incredibly strong xx
Becsxx - gee that sounds like a horrid bug, I'm glad the hospital looked after you.
AFM, I had my delayed 16 week appointment. It was a bit awkward as there was so much to cover since I last saw her (bad consultant visit, high BP (edit: not BO haha!) being rushed to hospital, bad NT attest results then Amnio plus results!) and due to requesting changing consultant, and because that consultant hadn't done 1/2 the paperwork she was supposed to! (Inc not noting the new meds she gave me in my green booklet!!)
BUT she's a fantastic midwife so it was all ok. And her student reassured me to not worry (yet) about my collapsed stomach muscles (a birth defect), and why, in one sentence. (Whereas the consultant had told me I couldn't have that condition if I wasn't operated on for it, without listening or examining me!). So that was very reassuring, and from a student not a consultant!
My BP was "normal"and I got to hear baby's heartbeat, which was wonderful and very reassuring

I am still reading here, and I probably will continue reading here at least until everyone in this thread currently graduates to the next one. Hopefully by that time we will be expecting again.0 -
My thoughts are with you mrstm and my fingers are very much crossed that you and your OH are able to conceive again as soon as you are ready to do so xxxOur first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

Hello ladies,
Can I please join? I'm only 13+3 but have just 'come out' at work and it feels very weird! Did any of your get that moment of panic? I guess it is just because it has been a secret for so long that it feels wrong to be telling people, even now!
I think it was a good thing I've told people...apparently some have picked up on my bump already. And I work with men so I thought I'd be completely under the radar!
I'll go back to lurking until I get a more impressive bump!0 -
