  • Samtoby, not sure if this will help your headaches, and it is not medical advice, but I was told that nausea can be linked to low blood sugar and to keep boiled sweets/barley sugars to hand for when I felt queasy, headaches may be triggered by something completely different, but anything is worth a try. I have also been a bit headachey the last few days, but I know I am not drinking enough water, especially when I am not at work.

Samtoby, my experience of headaches is pre-pregnancy but if I was sure it wasn't dehydration a cold coke would sometimes help, as apparently a bit of caffeine can help dilate the blood vessels in the brain and would take care of any low blood sugar issues. Or you could try that 4head stuff, it's menthol stick you rub on your forehead as a non drug based headache remedy. Plus some headaches are caused by tension in the muscles at the top of the neck/base of the skull so massaging there could help.
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!
  • Hi girls,

Things are so busy at the moment that I haven't really had time to catch up on everyone's news let alone post. Glad I did just pop in though, as I'm at the top of the list now (when did that happen?!), feels still like I should be at least half way down.

Hope everyone's well and I also recommend the angel Doppler. We struggled with finding the HB the first time but can hear it pretty much straight away afterwards and was really reassuring for before the baby was making so many movements.

  • Morning - Had a lovely weekend, works do etc. But starting to wind myself up about finances at the mo for when Im on maternity leave - I know its because its Christmas etc. - but not got anything for baby and we definitely do not have enough saved. I want to take 9 months off so need to get some inspiration fast!!
On the good news front was offered a pram by my good friend yesterday (mamas & papas) and highchair yesterday!
  • Just had my 20 week scan :)

It was amazing, I promised myself I wouldn't cry (just one little tear)!

Staying team yellow! My baby was sucking his/her thump catching her/his toes and yawning... so cute! got some amazing pics too!

I was in and out within 15 mins - thought it would take longer, they didn't talk much which had me a little worried, she did keep saying 'yes, that looks good'! if there was anything wrong, would they tell you there and then??

Yes they would. So you can assume all they can check is well. That's bad she didn't explain that though, our lady was excellent pointed out everything and talked the whole way through & said she'd say straight away if anything was of concern.

I think 15mins is standard, ours took longer bit that was because she was facing the wrong way!
  • Thanks for putting my mind at rest :) - She just looked like she was concentrating really hard lol - she did point out a few things but it was mainly silence.

I now feel relieved for the first time in my pregnancy :)
