There are loads of videos on line about what babies can hear, I've done a bit of stuff with ante natal clients at work about it, it is fascinating. I'll try and dig out some links about it when I'm at work later in the week :)

That would be really useful :) I did try googling this but couldn't find much so it would be really interesting to see what you have found x

First movement for me was 17. Just flutters.

By 20 she was thumping away!

I didn't get first movements til about 19 weeks, feels like cartwheels atm, not actual kicks yet.
  • Can't wait :) am currently lying on my back browsing the forum on the ipad whilst OH reads 'Norse myths' to the baby :)

I remember my first definite movement was at 18+3 weeks and it was like a bubble bursting on my skin but from inside. I'd felt strange 'flutters' before that but nothing I was sure about.
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!

I feel it more if I eat or drink sugary stuff.. what a great excuse to pig out :)

Friend came over today with lovely hand knitted shawl, cardigan hat and booties that her mum made :D I've never even met her mum, so touched by how nice everyone is when they hear a baby is on the way !! A woman in work that I barely know is also knitting !!

hmd - welcome and congrats on the twins. Doubly exciting!

claire - congrats on graduating. See you on the next thread soon. ;) Hope your're still managing proper food.... :)

rachel - congrats on your long awaited baby and welcome

lush - I'm in the same boat as you having lost almost 6 stone too. I know I'm not eating as well as I could be, but I'm so hungry all the time. I know my habits are rubbing off on hubby too so I need to be a bit better or it'll be rough next year trying to lose it all again :(
What was that on the PS4? Hubby is waiting for his and guaranteed before xmas. Thought the old games would work on the new one?

con - that was lovely of your friends mum - people just love babies! :D

Been manic at work and sorry, I did meant to pop in to leave a quick note - my scan went fine last week. I do need a re-scan on 19th as couldn't quite see everything, but they did say there was nothing concerning at all. They just wanted a bit more detail but baby kept their hands in the way of everything casting shadows, lol. I'll update the list.....

So... just the 6 scans left then :rotfl:

Yes, it is amazing how lovely people are - we've had a very similar experience where somone at my DH's work, who he doesn't know particularly well, brought in a crochet patterns book and asked him to pick something we'd like for them to make for the baby. We've chosen a beautiful patterned shawl and really touched someone is doing this for us
