Yep, i also tried this, completely the same as if done in the oven, only toasty shape, and it took 4/5 mins!

These look good I wonder if you could sandwich them with a bit of jam perhaps .Wrapped up in foil they would make a change on a picnic.
Purpledonkey do you have a quick and easy recipe for doughnuts I have a doughnut maker at the back of my kitchen cupboard but no recipe book0 -
this sounds great, so do you just use a normal recipe and then fill the bottom half so that it is level before closing the lid? Sorry if that sounds dim!2019, move forward with positivity! I am the opposite of Eyeore :rotfl:0

sorry - answered my question by looking at the website as I was soooo excited about this! :j
I normally do a sponge in the micro as there is only the 2 of us so this will be another way to do a quick cake/pudding
thanks ever so much for posting about this! (is it odd that i am so pleased?!):rotfl:2019, move forward with positivity! I am the opposite of Eyeore :rotfl:0 -
no ive not made cakes in mine, but as a mince pie lover (see mince pie thread) ive often wondered if pastry would cook on it but never tried it.
I usually buy the pre rolled pastry from Tesco (also available in other establishments) and make one big pie/tart/turnover.
I wasn't sure if the breville type sandwich toaster would cook the pastry properly, (just checked and it is a breville) so ill give it a try next time:j0 -
Oh wow that looks amazing!!!
Im another that usually whizzs up a cheap n cheerful Mr T sponge mix and cooks it in 2 mins in the micro (dollop of jam or stewed fruit and its a brill steamed sponge pud style pud) But this has to be explored
Thanks for sharing

on further checking of my breville it dosent have the dished hot plates but two flat hot plates that just melt the sandwich rather than sealing the edges, so that was why I never tried it as all the filling would just poor out.:(0
