Very rude Telephone cold calling!

I keep getting Indian-sounding callers, asking me about my mortgage. They all have suspiciously British sounding names, like Jack Wilson or Sharon. I tell them i'm not interested and put the phone down. One got me talking and asked me who my OH worked for and what he earned. I told them I wasn't going to tell them that. One afternoon they must have called about 10 times. I always answer the phone but this time my OH got up and shouted down the phone that if they didn't stop we were going to call the police. The calls stopped for that day. They phoned back a couple of days later again.

I registered with the TPS over a year ago. I tried to sign up again but was told I was already registered. I still get calls though.

**** they have my new number! Only had it for less than a month!

Got my first cold call on new mobile yesterday. Asking me details on whether im pay as you go/contract. I said im not interested as I already have a new contract. He asked if it's 12 months and I said yes so he replied "ok then ill mark your account to be called in 11 months, bye" before I could even say no!

Another loophole- the calls come from non-EU based companies so they are not restricted by the TPS or the Data Protection Directive. :mad:
