Top up grocery spends at local shop today, but have bought next week's lottery tickets and set aside the cash for the Ringtons tea man on Tuesday, so Monday and Tuesday should both see me hit my target. And being back to work tomorrow (night shift) for 3 nights in a row means not much time for spending money, so I may be requesting permission from Sergeant Major freeby to increase my target!
Hmmm, 20th October, the Halloween/Samhain party approaches. Igor has finished knitting several miles of decorative spider webs to festoon Ennessdee Towers, the freezers are chocabloc with packs of apple curry, apple pies, apple soup, apple sorbet, apple pizzas....the bathtub is out of action again being full to the brim with some foul pestilence which Igor will insist on serving up in a cocktail. Please be reassured that I will have a selection of takeaway menues handy for when you all get here. And I have ordered in some decent alcoholic beverages, but don't let Igor see any of it, he so loves this whole party catering lark that I don't like to hurt his feelings.
(What are you doing with that sewing machine, Igor? Making your costume....what kind of apple are you dressing up as? Oh, I see, a maggotty windfall, complete with real maggots, very fetching....)One life - your life - live it!0 -
Only managed 1 NSD during the week last week - work is too manic to handle at the moment without coffee! On the plus side, I'm halfway through a completely spend-free weekend trying to recover so I'll bag NSD #5, #6 and #7 including today please.
Next week's not looking hopeful either, am already feeling like I need a double-shot espresso just thinking about how much I've got to get done tomorrow, and trying to fight off the urge to start today in a bid to get ahead of the game ... Pretty sure that's not what weekends are for.
Hi suziebabe
Maybe a flask of hot water so you can make your own coffee ?MrsCautious wrote: »Hello, I managed NSD #7 yesterday which was my target for this month -- a whole week without putting my hand in my pocket for me or my children. I think (hope) I may be able to notch up a few more this month, but I think for me, a good goal would be to have a week a month where I don't spend money.

Sorry to hear about the ear infection...whoops no pun intendedyou'd be surprised how things like that can be linked, I went to the dentist once with chronic tooth ache. Turned out it was nothing to do with my teeth but actually the pain was travelling from my sinus' being infected after a cold.

Nargle, this year can you ask Igor to hang the knitted cobwebs such that we don't have to climb them like a cargo net up to the bellfrey in order to gain entry to the party because they were all strung across the front door like last year please. not the I minded too much, Mr Tennant was in front of me...wearing his kilt
Well I can declare NSD #10 :j did have to make two trips to HB, including one at the last knockings to get another tin of paint (typical, ran out and only had one wall to do) had to beg to be let in as it was closing time. BUT I can now say that the bathroom walls are painted AT LAST! :T Still need to stick a coat on a bit of woodwork, and the radiator, not sure if I'm bothering with the skirting though. Then put everything back and enjoy. Going to see about new flooring in the Jan sales.
Kitchen and dining room could do with a lick of paint too but frankly, I'm thinking about getting the guy who did our living room back to do those next year, and the downstairs wc. I know I could do it, but frankly he did such a nice job before, I almost think it's worth paying for his time to free up a bit of mine. Not very :money: I knowFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

No Spend Day #8 today.
Next month I am going to get abit more organised with this no-spending malarkey.I have had afew days this week where I have had spends only due to disorganisation. For example,I do grocery shopping, but the next day I realise I have have run out of/forgotten to get something,so end up having a small spend(milk, bread, etc).
The other thing I have had happen,is the only spend during a day was,eg,Scouts subs for the week(my only spend on Thursday),or paying for school dinners(even though my kids only have school dinners on Friday, needs to be paid for on Monday, and that is often my only spend on that day, because I try to stay home and do housework after whirlwind weekends).
Could probably bag another 2 NSD's a week if grocery shopping,Scouts and school dinners all happened on the same day .
I hope everyone is doing well.Sorry to those who are feeling sick and bad and poorly.
