Well so far I have put sultanas mixed peel and ground mixed spice in a jar and poured brandy on top
oh and put it in the airing cupboard.
Some recipes call for all sorts like cinnamon sticks, different fruits etc but I'm going simple. Some also call for brown sugar - I will see in a few weeks if it needs sweetening up.
I made kola Kube vodka last year for my stepdad (doing a wethers version this time) and you bash the sweeties, leave them in the vodka somewhere warm until they all dissolve (goes a bit syrupy and a vivid purple colour) sloshing about (and having a sniff) from time to time. After that I pass it all through a filter (coffee or in my case a sieve lined with kitchen paper
) then funnel into a cute bottle.
So that's what I'll do with these. Leave them to steep and filter then funnel into bottles.
Makes a really easy home made gift!
:pi have 4 x 500ml bottles and 2 litres spirits but only 3 people to give to :rotfl: oh dear there will be one left over...Bossymoo

In my HHPainting I have used up another small trayful of emulsion and painted the walls down to waist level (having done the ceiling earlier) - this includes painting all the supporting bars for the slatted shelves. One more trayful of paint and the job should be done, apart from one insert of new plywood above the door which will require a second coat later.
My shoulder is bearing up, but I shall be glad to get it finished. Then I shall order the lounge curtain material
How did you get on, Raphael and greent?
Gentle (((hugs))) and arnica gel to Skinty, and more spoons and sticks to LW.
Well done on the painting

At home I'll use the same cup for everything, tea, orange juice, coffee, all day (with maybe a quick rinse in between)
Sounds normal to me.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Raph.. my friend is adopting soon and they have become friends with 2 guys hoping to adopt very soon too.. They don't seem to be treated any differently than my friend and her hubby so I don't think it is much of an issue now, there are just so many children needing someone to love them they have realised that anyone (pretty much) is able to give that care not just Mr and Mrs married person. It's perfect weather for frogs, dusty
Just got pretty drenched on the school run. I guess the shower proofing on my jacket is washed off. Either than or it just isn't up to the downpour. Lesson learned, will dig out better outerwear for morning. Mine and DS coats in airing cupboard plus his shoes. We both have dry clothes on now and feel pretty toasty.
DD was under the raincover mostly. She popped out for a play with her brolly for all of 1 minute then asked to get back in :rotfl: bless her. Anyway. It's sort of nice getting wet but knowing you'll be home in 5 minutes
So we are just having a snack and a drink. I had a sort in my party bag box earlier, now I've numbers confirmed. I need a few bits for the baby bags (poundshop - will poss get those 5 for £1 boats for in the bath and some chunky crayons) and I want some Halloween stickers for the others to decorate their loot bags, then I think we're done!
I also put DD bed back. She's not sleeping any better in a proper bed so this way I can tuck the trundle away rather than fall over an empty toddler bed every night (when I escape to the spare room cos my bed is full)
The good news is the conservatory roof still seems watertight :T and plaster is nearly dry, just the patch he had to redo on Monday.Bossymoo

Bathroom-done
Dailies done.
Cat stuff done.
Went for lunch and shopping with DD. Which we always enjoy.
Came back and have hoovered the sofa and chair as there are being taken away later. New one arrives tomorrow. Once it's out I will Hoover and wash the living room floor. Will watch tv upstairs tonight. Got a canvas chair to sit in till new 3 piece arrives.
Quite dark here and it's only 20 past 4.0 -
Been at the paid stuff today, then picked up DS2 and nipped to Homeba$e for a shelf; going to add some legs which I picked up at the weekend to make a shelf for the bedroom tv so the DVD and V!rgin box can fit underneath.
Great plan in theory; let's see.
No time to thread-read, hope all is well!0
