Quick question for any financial Savvy people on here.
................"Of course outside an ISA, 10% income tax will be automatically deducted from dividends,.........."
There's still plenty of misunderstanding about ISAs.
[I know where you got that "best answer" from]

The nominee service is likely to be more expensive when it comes to selling your shares. In fact, it may even be cheaper to pay the 'transfer out' charge the RM nominee will charge (£10) and use another broker then selling via the RM nominee (depends on the size of the holding)
This is slightly sensationalist but explains the position
If you had a share certificate instead, several brokers who are much cheaper when it comes to selling the shares online at a flat rate and also don't charge any annual or inactivity fees - you simply send the certificate to them (for free) and they add them to your account (or apply via a broker in the first place)

Thank you Sunil I will keep a note of that.
We haven't done any share dealing for years, NatWest used to have a dealing service which we used once or twice, but they shut it down.0 -
None if you applied for £10,000+".....where it is corrupt, purge it....."0

From the PR feed:All members of the public who have applied for shares in Royal Mail through the Retail Offer, up to and including applications of GBP10,000, will receive an allocation of 227 Shares which is equivalent to GBP749.10 at the Offer Price. This represents almost 95 per cent. of all members of the public who have applied - or over 690,000 people. Those who have applied for shares worth more than GBP10,000 will not receive an allocation, which is in line with the treatment of larger applications in previous well over-subscribed privatisations.
- All members of the public who submitted a valid application for GBP750 worth of shares - more than 93,000 people - will have their application met in full.
- In total over 270,000 applicants, (37 per cent. of applicants) will receive at least half of the Shares they have applied for.
- Only approximately 5 per cent. of applicants will receive no allocation.0 -

I applied for £1000 so if I'm getting £750 then I'm reasonably satisfied. I just need to decide what to spend my £250 refund on!0
