I love all this speculation on allocation. In fact none of us (including the BBC) know because the issuers haven't yet finalised it: they'll need to do it today though. And why are individuals in such a rush to sell? Hold on and see what develops, maybe even buy some more in the market: you're going to get a decent divi and may see a really successful business emerge.0

Its called Hot money, most FTSE deals are placed with borrowed money.
I expect alot of IPO will not be owned 100% so flipping a profit is a necessity. For savers I agree, its a decent hold.
This is why Vincent is not such a dinosaur, he knows its best to place it with pension funds where the money is there for ten years or more and can hold as investment not speculation0 -
I can't help wondering if the journos have got the wrong end of the stick here (journalists and basic mathematics don't really go together, after all.)
A reasonable scheme would be "everybody gets £750, and then you get a decreasing proportion of shares above £750 such that you don't get any of the shares above £10,000 that you have applied for.
The reported scheme, of no shares at all for over £10K, seems weirdly punitive and unfairly "cliff"-like (and no, I have not applied for that many myself).
Anyway, I'm just amazed that they're only making up the allocation scheme now, if reports are correct! Surely they thought about possible scenarios before? And shouldn't applicants have been told of the allocation scheme in advance? Like may others I increased my application in the belief that it would be oversubscribed. Had I known that there would be this bizarre "Vince sticks it to the well-off" clause I would have left it at £750."Einstein never said most of the things attributed to him" - Mark Twain0 -
When i applied the drop down menu i could select from only went up to £10k , how did individual people apply for more ?0

For the people who opted for the 'Royal Mail Nominee Share Service' via 'Equiniti’s share dealing services'.
Does anyone know how this will work, will they send us login details on Friday for the Equiniti site, or will they email some kind code to use after we register on the Equiniti site?0 -

I have made my money now from taking calculated risks in the past, my aim now is only consolidation. Despite balancing my portfolio by investing more in shares I am just not interested in holding individual shares, I much prefer FTSE trackers. It is chicken feed anyway I am only likely to get a few shares and it isn't worth thinking about what the RM shares are doing. So I will mostly likely sell straight away.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

I think it said they would send details once your allocation had been confirmed - hopefully not by Royal Mail0 -
Sometimes its best not to be too hasty. I was too hasty with my employee share scheme. After three years I cashed the shares in at £3.20 making a nice profit. However if I had only waited I could have sold out at £5.30.0

And sometimes it is best to be hasty - at a previous company I kept all employee share purchase shares in the belief that they would go up in the long term and because I didn't need the money at the time - they didn't and I lost out overall.0
