"Now there is a longstanding tradition, rule of thumb, heuristic—whatever you want to call it—in IPO underwriting that issuers should sell their shares in an IPO at a discount to intrinsic or fair value. In normal, healthy markets, this discount is normally discussed in a range of 10 to 15% [assuming fair value is correct]"0 -
Hi those that know. If you apply for royal mail shares through X-O now but the funds are not yet showing in my account, is this ok to proceed with my application?I transferred the funds today but I assume they won't show until 2moro, but I want to apply now while I remember and have the time.
I don't know if you must have cleared funds when you apply and it isn't clear on the website.0 -
Can I ask other investors on here if Equiniti have already taken the money from your account if you applied via debit card directly?
They certainly have with mine, which I am a little surprised about, given that I may get allocated less than I have applied for.
Yes I can confirm that Equiniti took my money straight away before we even know what allocation we will get, as a shares newbie I was also a bit surprised that this happened but apparently that's the way it is!0 -
After the shares are listed on the stock exchange on 11 October, banks will be able to start trading. Retail investors will not be able to sell their shares until 15 October.
WHY? :mad:0 -

Hopefully we get some gloom going, bit of a sell off from speculators dumping on weak Ftse maybe (RM is a Dec index candidate)
Some strike action, end of days sentiment (UPS just defaulted) plus xmas low volume combo could give a better price then now otherwise its probably good is my guess0
