If they had rationed fruit like after the war, then yea. It would be dull to apply twice from one address and one set of details. Quite a few people will be able to effectively buy twice if its done in someone elses name.0

I'm in for £2,500 - with the expectation that we'll get allocated less.0

Aren't the investment banks just hyping this up to get the sale away? If there are a lot of applications, they will then sell at the highest price so there won't necessarily be a first-day premium especially with everyone trying to sell for an instant profit. This isn't a fixed-price offer like BT and British Gas; I would be cautious about applying for more than you want to keep long term. Most recent issues have fallen in price after flotation e.g. Esure, Glencore, Polymetal, Betfair plus many smaller floats on the AIM market.0

We'd be perfectly happy with £2,000 - £2,500. We may hold half and sell half or hold all, depending on what happens. Overall, we are in the stock market for the long term and not particularly interested in stagging but I don't rule it out.0

About a couple of years ago, I met a young lady who was in some distress. She was going to get married in Austria in a beautiful alpine setting. She had sent off a packet of legal documents to Austria. Royal Mail sent them to Australia. I won't be touching this IPO with telekinesis, never mind the proverbial bargepole.0

It sounds like it'll be over subscribed so they'll give most shares to funds and then the employees. So Im going to guess minimum only shares for everyone elseMost recent issues have fallen in price after flotationRoyal Mail sent them to Australia.
A foreign postal service would have had to forward them I think0 -
I e applied for 5k, if it's scaled back then that's life. I'm fairly easy, will sell if they get to a decent premium but hold if not.
There's obviously questions longer term, but what other industry could you get away with a 50% price hike with the collusion of the regulator and little public or press criticism. Projected 6-7% yield win a dividend cover of 2 is also appealing for many people given the lack of income elsewhere. Longer term then concerns about the cost of the universal franchise and how this will be funded.0 -
Can I ask other investors on here if Equiniti have already taken the money from your account if you applied via debit card directly?
They certainly have with mine, which I am a little surprised about, given that I may get allocated less than I have applied for.0 -
If you applied direct then they take the money straightaway (ish, it seemed to take them a couple of days to suck money out of my account)IANAL etc.0

I'm not so sure. There would be a huge political backlash from small investors if they applied for a few thousand pounds worth and got next to nothing while the bankers cleared up. That's some bad headlines the government wouldn't want.
From reports, it seems as if the institutions are massively oversubscribing in the expectation that they will only get a small fraction of what they want - so if they actually want £10m worth then they are applying for £50m.0
