  • That is fantastic gevans. I have applied for an X-O account as well just in case I need to use it.

Do you or anyone else have any idea how long the transfer takes to happen with X-O?

Other than their trading price and special delivery charges, can Equiniti make any charges to us? are there any other cost involved?

Thansk for your help, this is great :-)

Yes, I think so, although Equiniti charge a minimum of £45 for an online trade of certificated shares.

I think it costs about £50 for a replacement certificate if it gets lost in the post.

Our other option, if we receive the form Ds before we leave, is to send the certificates back to Equiniti and, after a ten day wait, sell the nominee shares using the automated telephone line for £7.50 per trade.

I just read that only a handfull of investors haven't received an e-mail with their transaction number............I unfortunately am one of them.
I have been refunded the balance over the £750 I paid initially but no e-mail.
Is there a number that I can call to find out the number please......preferably not an 087 one.
Thanks for any help you may give.

X-O said it will probably take five days from the time they receive the certs before we can trade.

I don't think Equiniti can charge anything for us selling our certs to someone else.

On a postive note for a change, I now have my full refund of the exess funds paid into my bank account, so others should check to see if the funds (if any) have been refunded in your own bank account.

Thanks for the heads up! Just checked my bank, and my excess funds have also been returned.

Since I have not received any ref number yet (but have received balance refund), wondering if I am going to get a share cert instead... went back to the Application Received email... there it says nothing about what option was chosen. Pathetic, eh?

    Welcome to the club.
  • That is excellent gevans :-) you have been extremely helpful.

I have just got my X-O account confirmed, but like you, can't use it just now until I get the code in the post. Can you tell me, where do you get the crest form from?

One final question, is this 5.95 fee per trade the only fee they charge, there is no annual fee, or minimum number of trades to be made or such like? Also, is the value that you sell for on their site the same as the stock exchange or a reduced value?

Sorry if you dont know all the answers, but just trying to make sure I dont get caught out again, like yourself I am sure.

Hope you get things sorted before you go, hope your going on holiday and not something less exciting like work.

I am one of the unfortunate people who did not read the tick box text fully and it is my mistake so I hold my hands up.

I do however feel that the text was deliberately misleading as it started by saying your shares will be held in a nominee account.... that is all I read so I thought I was making the correct choice, done in a rush. I never noticed the last bit that says if you want a cert click here.

I think it has been done in the hope of cashing in on peoples mistake, and I am pretty sure that the advertising standards agency or such would agree that it is misleading.

:T Kudos for accepting it was your mistake. I agree it wasn't written very well, but as you say, you were in a rush and didn't read carefully - there's a proper MSE lesson - always read everything carefully... I don't think you'd have a case with any standards agency, as the majority of people got it right.

They say there are no other charges, minimum trades etc.

You need to read through their FAQs most answers are there.
