They were hovering around 475 for ages, now they're about to break back through the 480 barrier. volumes seem quite low so there may now be a scarcity of shares for sale now most early sellers have dumped and the long term investors will now try to get what they need for their portfolios. I reckon it'll reach 500 before end of day! maybe 650 by end of next week0

There was no "Nominee box". That was the booby trapI fell straight into it, wheee!

Oh I am not so sure you are correct there, there are a lot of people who got caught out on this one, people on here, on the guardian and telegraph, twitter etc, probably into the thousands I would guess.
Some of those are claiming that they did not select any option but were still given certificates though.
The fact of the matter really is if the text had been written clearly rather than in the negative, most people would have selected the correct option. I am sure the ASA have taken people to task over similar issues as this. However even if they did, I doubt it would make a difference now.Spacefraggle wrote: »:T Kudos for accepting it was your mistake. I agree it wasn't written very well, but as you say, you were in a rush and didn't read carefully - there's a proper MSE lesson - always read everything carefully... I don't think you'd have a case with any standards agency, as the majority of people got it right.0 -
Have you tried selling through the automated phone service?^^^^^^^^
In the email with the ref # it suggested you could sell straight away
even if you did apply for a certificate.
I've been told all you enter on the phone service is your
Ref # and just press 1 a couple of times to confirm a few
things.
I would imagine the certificate would just be voided then.
To this moment I have had no email and no reference number. We also know from other posts that people who defo are NOT certificates, have also not had any email. So much for sending them all out by 5:30 yesterday, let alone 3 hours before the deadline like they told the Telegraph.0 -

THEY ARE GOING UP RIGHT NOW THOUGH, CHECK IT OUT ON LIVECHARTS (transaction volumes are ramping up too)0 -

£250 refund received this morning.
Still no email. 100% sure I selected that shares be held electronically and not certificated. I am sure of this as I was deliberating which option to go for and double checked the submission.
Me tooWhich box did you tick?
(This is a trick question
.)
Though I think there's some evidence there might have been a glitch, though I don't know why they would choose certificated as a default, since electronic was specifically meant to be the default.0
