I would not moan about waiting 2 days for an email but it is very frustrating to continually hear in the media from 8:00 yesterday that small investors can now sell - half truth, and then to be told most emails have now been sent out - let's have some more info, how/why/what is the process of sending emails.
One more moan, in what other area are items offered for sale, money taken from account (£10k+) wait for email to be told you have not been acceptable, then wait for return cheque then wait to cash thro bank.
IMO share dealing is a messy business.
My moan is that what constitues 'person A' receiving their reference number in what could potentially be 2 full days trading and they have the choice to sell or keep to 'person B' who is still waiting unable to do so, having paid the same price.
And although I will give equiniti until close of business today to send me my share reference number, issuing statements via the press suggesting "the vast majority of investors have received their emails and we are working to issue the remainer by the close of play (Tuesday)" just gives false hope.0 -
The telephone number for queries is 0871 384 2656 but don't waste your time or money. They will not give you your shareholder reference over the phone, the man I spoke to hid behind Data Protection and when I pointed out that this was incorrect and DP was to protect me and not give them something to hide behind he said it was company policy not to give out info on the phone and I might not be who I said I was. He assured me that all emails would be out by 5.30pm today. According to the T&Cs they have 2 days from date of flotation to issue the emails.0

It is a bit of a mess because it should not take this long to send out an email, lots of people including me do not know if this email will be sent at all, some others have been told that they are getting a certificate when they clearly asked for the nominee account, others selected a certificate and still recieved the email regardless. I would say that amounts to a mess.
It's you're not your !0 -

Be careful! If the price drops markedly, s/he'll claim it as evidence of being right.
You can't win an argument with rationality or logic if your opponent values neither.0 -
It would be interesting to know why emails are only being sent after trading started. Is it to prevent big melt down on first day of trading.
Whatever the reason, I am sure everyone would be happier to understand the system.
Same in all areas of life, at train station, "train will 10 mins late" = frustration, "train will be 10 mins late because debris had to be cleared from line at x" = acceptance.0 -

That's certainly been my guess, although, for some on here, this reason lacks the proper conspiratorial overtones.pauljoanss wrote: »Whatever the reason, I am sure everyone would be happier to understand the system.

I think you're onto something here. Despite agreeing with the 'you shoulda read the T&Cs' brigade, it seems the the whole non-stockbroker approach to buying RM shares has been poorly handled with respect to keeping folks informed.
Managing expectations isn't usually all that difficult. It amazes me how firms ever think that keeping frustrated people uninformed is the best way to produce a happy experience for all concerned--including the firm itself.0 -
For those of you who wish to communicate your displeasure directly, these are the emails of the CEO and CFO of Equinity
The CEO is Wayne Story
wayne.story@Equiniti.com
The CFO is Martyn Hindley and his email address is martyn.hindley@Equiniti.com0 -
Whilst some of the posts on here appear a little OTT it certainly hasn't shown Equiniti in a good light. I agree their communication has been poor at best and has put me off holding my shares on their system.
I've already requested they are transferred to my X-O account - I wonder how long that will take them?!0 -
In the meantime the share price has lost all interest.0
