Did you already have a shareview account or did you do it the way previously suggested where you state you dont have an account?
I set up my bank details on Equiniti, and it said:

There's no mention of having to return a cheque before I can be paid via BACS, so I'm not so sure why some of you have received different information?

I think likely went wrong, same thing happened to my wife.

Martmonk, did your wife try again or is she just waiting to see what happens?
  • Have any of you managed to set your sale "At Limit" on Equiniti? It just comes up with an error message for me, despite trying a couple of times:
The following errors occurred: shim.gif 1) This order type is currently not available for this security.
  • It has been hinted to me that the shares may well hit as high as £5.50 (by close of business today )
so I'd hang on to them

Can anyone confirm whether or not I'm allowed to sell on the Equiniti site if I asked for a share certificate? :(

I did it the way it was suggested further up the forum, but actually, now I'm trying to sell, selecting payment by BACS it gives me the same message about returning a cheque. Not sure why they're doing it this way, surely a straight electronic transfer would be the cheapest, quickest, easiest way for all concerned! :o

No idea why we get different messages, I have a 5 minute walk into town to pay the cheque in, but then if your not near your bank (or the cash machine won't accept cheques at night) thats another matter.

Normaly you will need to send the certificate in to them to show you have them before you sell them. Best thing is to call Equniti and ask.

Yes, it lets you setup your bank details no problem, but when you choose to sell you shares it then asks if you want paying by BACs or Cheque, I got the meesage about the cancelled cheque at this point.

Did you get passed this point and proceed with the sale?

I ended up selling them through the online system on her behalf and swallowing the extra tenner fee.
