Is it worth the double fees (£17.50) you think?

That's certainly something to take into account. On the other hand there is usually a charge for buying shares but there wasn't for RM.

I'm with HL and they charge £11.95 per trade.
  • The only number I received was the Share Offer Number in the email i received when I applied.

Do I need to wait for a separate email with the reference number?

I cant remember if I select online shares or to get the certificates. It was all a bit last minute in a rush.

Yes, you need to wait for an email with the shareholder ref number.

I was sure I clicked on receiving the share certificate, but I got the email with the reference number which allows me to sell on the Equinti site. I might just sell and see what happens.:o

The certificates are received by post, but I was under the impression that we would still receive an email confirming allocation etc
You should have got this Email last Friday when grey trading started.

    Check spam folders.
  • I set up my bank details on Equiniti, and it said:
Thank you for providing your up to date bank details. Please note that if you have asked for sale proceeds to be paid by BACS, the payment will be sent to this bank account.
There's no mention of having to return a cheque before I can be paid via BACS, so I'm not so sure why some of you have received different information?

Yeah, it wasn't an Email saying 'you have been awarded 227 shares' it was just a general E-mail titled 'Royal Mail Share Offer'

It contained some blurb about the 'secreary of state has today announced the final offer price...' and had a link to www.gov.uk/royalmailshares which contained the price and number of shares in there as a general notice to everyone.

There was no specific E-mail with your personal entitlement on it, which I suspect is why some people are still confused as to wether they got shares or not.

I have tried to sell my shares this morning using the automated phone service. After entering my refernce number followed by the number of shares, I was asked to press '1' to confirm that I wanted to sell my shares. After that I received the message 'please hang up' rather than any confirmation message. Can someone please confirm whether that is correct or that something went wrong.
