If there are no missing Drivers, then it's time to upgrade your AntiVirus solution.
Download and Save, but do not install Avast 8 Free

When fully downloaded, go to Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program and uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials. Reboot.

When you restart, click on the Avast Setup file to begin the install. Be careful not to install any Toolbars, browsers or addons. So read each step carefully.

Then you can use Windows Easy Transfer to replace the data of your choice back to your clean install.

Once that is complete, it's probably time to make an image of your drive with Macrium Reflect to a folder on the new external drive, as this will be a clean image to which to return in the case of a disaster.

I don't have any idea of what you have done. All of your images should have been on the external drive.

You don't need any of the other Macrium images now that you are up and running, but you might keep them for a while until you are sure that you have retrieved all of your important data.

its ok i have my images etc on external harddrive. i meant can i reuse the same disk as i did before for Macrium Reflect to do new image? ie overwrite old Macrium Reflect?

have just tried doing new disk and it has just stopped saying i have run out of space so don't know what else to do as have no more disks, when i first started it said disk had to be reformatted so should be room on there as i dont have as much stuff this time

Just delete the images that you don't need. They should all be in their own individual folders if you followed what I suggested. You don't need to make another Macrium Boot Disk. Just keep the Easy Transfer folder at least, if you backed up all of your data there. If you format the disk, you will erase everything.

Photos won't slow your laptop. It's actually better to keep them in more than one location.
It's a completely different experience now, isn't it?

Install CCleaner and Run Cleaner regularly.
