Garlic & honey concoction not as bad as I expected, chopped it up a bit to make it easier to chew/ swallow. Thank goodness DH working late tonight! Although not much snogging with me feeling lousy.
Also forgot he makes loads of amazing noodley things & katsu curries so much so that he's ruined Wagamammies for us he can make better & way cheaper.

Really NSK I can't thank you enough for this challenge. I have just sat here and planned the next month and I'm feeling pretty good. Mindset has definitely changed although I think I may need to treat myself to some toiletries this month after I have run them all down! However I will downgrade and go to S@avers this time.Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0

Rant alert... new line manager wanders over to inspect my food. Cause apparently us vegan/vegetarians are such a rare breed it warrants us to reiterate our foodage for lunch to ever tom, !!!!!! and harry that asks. So I tell my line manager what I have.. one tub contains grated raw beetroot. Very sweet and works wonders for my sugar fix...
Her responce.... BLUEUUUUURRRRGH! With her tongue hanging out, in front of my face and too close to my food for my liking. I said "please don't do that infront of my food".. she did it again...BLEUUUUUURGHHHH! With the tongue out AGAIN!!!
Apprently my millet tabbouleh with fried nuttolene and salad mixed up "looks ok" but she hates beetroot. I told her not to ask in future.
Honestly what is wrong with some people??!!
Kaybeebop - very brave. Shoulda said we crush it then swallow with a slice of bread on hand incase you wretch. The veggie Wagama's Katsu curry is my speciality.. the same sauce is sold in little cubes at my local chinese/japanese megastore (Hoo Hing anyone?).. and I use their panko (japanese breadcrumbs ) to coat boiled slices of butternut swuash (surprisingly sweet) and bake them. Served with rice - YUMMY! Any recipes you care to share please do! Yasai gyoza are next on my hit list!!!
Stewby - hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm pop tarts! I haven't had them in AGES!!! However I am in the kind of workplace where only food makes things better....I understand your plight! If the food was an insistance from your mother then it was gifted - if you asked it has to go on your spends.. It's all new - don't beat yourselves up. YOu will adjust and readjust that food budget every month. Have no fear though you are in the right place..
Thrifty / MrsGSR - spill.. two things of importance which are on the list. Or inbox me and I will include them for everyone in November......mwah ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaa!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -

NSK katsu sauce so simple just google think it's a Telegraph one we use. Makes loads, feeds us 4 with chicken & sweet pot & rice with extra sauce & with enough for a 2nd meal in the freezer. We just use HM YS ciabatta breadcrumbs (dried out in oven) tho if wanting something quickly use frozen breaded chick. He does a miso soup thingie think it's from their own recipe book. And chicken chilli men tho good with just veggies too, think that's a Chinese Meals in minutes that girl that used to do BBC then Channel 5think her name's Ching...again much cheaper than jar from supermarket & fresher tasting last time I used tinned toms as no fresh & was lovely.
Just priced some more stuff for this sale on Sat DM taken DD to gymnastics so Doctors & a wee snooze for me!

It's always like that if you are "different". I am an omnivore but feel appalled by the reactions vegans/vegetarians get. I eat haggis now that's disgusting, what's wrong with beetroot? We should each accommodate each other.
Similar to being pregnant, suddenly people take the liberty to touch your bump, ask constantly how you are (surely well meant) and give unsolicited advice.

NinjaSavingKat wrote: »RosieCheeksBlossom - you have made massive headway with your debt. Super proud of you! I still do the "put back on shelf" thing... I think it's the psychology behind wanting it so it goes in your basket because you can have it, but then realising that even though you can have it ( and you have satisfied that urge just by putting it in your basket ) you can now justify leaving it because you don't need it... We are a weird bunch aren't we. But if it works then so be it..:T
I did that whilst in the shop yesterday, put something in my basket, happily carried it around the shop for 10 minutes and then put it back! Quite happy today I didnt buy it!
Have been reflecting on my own personal Oct Awakening.
SFD have been problematic and iI will be looking to see how to improve in November. I had to check my bank statement online to see how much we have spent on food, and then recheck! I can't believe I am going to come in under budget.
On a positive from I have also 'made' £120 in roadkill, Amazon sales and surveys etc in Oct--amazing
So this is just the start of a new way of life. Thanks Kat and everyone on the board for fantastic support and ideas :beer:Make £10 a day Jan £0/£3100 -

Yes, I still get a colleague come up and inspect my food every so often since he found out I was vegan, and all I want to do is just eat in peace and not listen to his inane waffle about protein etc etc. This has been happening on and off for 5 bloomin' years...was hoping he would be bored by now. I never comment on anyone else's food, and if I see someone eating at their desk, I prefer not to interrupt them; this is just manners, let alone talk and breathe all over their space. I'm incorpoating more raw food too now, so there are lots of "weird" things he has never seen before that he has to remark onGoals: Mortgage Free: Dec 2012 - complete (13y 8m early)
