    Howdy :)

Yesterday was a Spend Day - finally caught up with a friend and we shared dinner together...

Today is SFD number 3, and managed to squirrel away some extra £££ into my Money Jar - I will often use loose change left over from shopping which is why sometimes my signature figures look so even! I have a 20p jar, and the Money Tin for £1 & £2 coins, and I am paying 50p per day into another one!!! These are all on top of my bank account 'Money Jar' where I am saving the bulk of my extra cash.

Enjoy your weekend folks - am off to have some lunch!

    ;)

Hey angelicious, have you tried e-cigarettes? My OH has smoked for 12+ years but bought one of these last month and hasn't smoked 1 cigarette since :)

I know they still have nicotine in them but they are loads cheaper and as far as I know don't have any carcinogens in them :)

If you want I'll ask him which type because he has tried a few over the years and never lasted more than a couple of days on them. But he raves about this one. He's even got 3 others in his department at work using them :)

I totally agree about the ecig.
I've smoked on and off since I was about 18 but not a heavy smoker. More of a social one if you know what I mean.
I wouldn't smoke for weeks and then if I went out, I'd want one with a drink.
I noticed recently that it was becoming a bit of a habit again and my cigs were £8.07 a pack.
I tried the patches, lozenges and just about everything else, but it never worked for me.
A friend let me try his ecig and I thought I'd buy one.
    I've not looked back.
I stopped on the 7th July and have never even thought about having a real ciggie
I feel loads better, both physically and financially.
    Good luck with it.

Have updated my signature as decided to go to Lidl and do the weeks shop while it's quiet. So today is not a NSD after all but the week ahead is looking promising.
Stuck to my list at the shop and didn't buy anything on impulse such as wine, crisps, chocolate ....
I might lose a bit of weight at this rate. That would be a bonus.

  • Ooooooooooh naught NSK is only checking in now Had a fab Saturday with friends in Reading.. now I need to catch up on all these posts and see what my little munchkins have been up to!

Yesterday was an SFD despite budgeted petrol spendage. Otherwise I have had three in a row cause today I am being SUPER lazy...

Right post reading - then more NSK posting..

  • hey angelicious!

I'm also on a e-cig - stopped smoking in August and only had some horrid roll-ups the other night when OH got me bladdered! but that was only cause the e-cig was on charge!!!!

My e-cig has banana liquid in too - it's so tasty!! :)
and costs maybe 4 pound a month to buy the liquid? maybe less!!

    so it's recommended! :)

PS - spending day today - did my shop, got to have a spending day tomorrow then aiming for nothing for the rest of the week!!!!

First things first... HOMELAND STARTS AGAIN TONIGHT!!!... I watched series 1, missed two and read the synopsis tonight and now am gearing up for series 3... I have series two on DVD and haven't watched it and need to get series 1 for LLL who has seen series 2 but not 1....make sense..?:rotfl:

Apart from that a SERIOUSLY lazy Sunday! I got home from a friends house last night at about 2am, slept until 1030, got up and ate then went back to bed at 2pm for a nap. Hard life eh?

So I have read everyone's postings. And yes doesn't it move fast!!!:)

So I freeze anything I can.. used to freeze milk but obviously don't need it any more... I freeze vegetables etc but always prefer them fresh. Sometimes it's easier to have 'em frozen rather than going off... my Mum has a chest freezer which I would LOVE to get my mitts on someday but apparently a lot of eleccy is used..but imagine the planning I could do...:rotfl:

Speaking of electricity one of those Extreme Cheapskates turns there chest freezer off at night and back on in the morning - I guess if you don't open the door it would be okay?...Maybe...

Stewby and others buying take out........£15 on pizza? Would you go into Tesco and pick one for £7.50 and think it's a great price? I don't begrudge you chickadees a treat when you are feeling down but that's a LOT of money....and other's having random take outs! Come on now... that's a LOT of money on food you could make yourself if you PLAN a little better...hmmmmmmmmmm chinese! NOW look what you have done to me....:p

So I have taken tomorrow off work so will be off the radar again. I have a friend visiting from Slovenia and am hoping we can avoid restaurants etc. I am tempted to bring my own foodage if I can be bothered to make something for both of us... I am not sure what the plan is but I would rather do that than spend money...although I knew my friend was visiting I didn't know the game plan...anyway.. we shall see..

KittyBoo...superb news about the DMP. I think you have made the right choice. I am glad for you I really am. That is a significant difference from 100 years to 8.5...a big Whoop Whoop for you I think.. don't worry MSE will push you through until the very end... :T:T:T..

Right I have to run and do a few things.. more check in later.. Hope everyone is having fun freezing their food, planning for the week and hopefully snuggled up at home...

Yes any overtime counts, any rebate counts towards moneymaking but those are easy options. See if you can push the boat out a little and still aim for earning a little more...

Without sounding cheeky NSK, I did include it in the budget as our one treat to keep my OH sweet... which must have worked cause he picked up yellow labelled green beans whilst ahopping today. (this was the guy who refused to buy any reduced fruit and veg because the flavour is wrong). I am so proud of him.
    :j

As I said on my own diary., shopping was a wee bit of a disaster as after spending my day preparing the shopping list, I then left it on the sofa.

However, we have now bought week 2's groceries and have spent a grand total of £40.10 on our shopping which is pretty bloody amazing!!
    :j

Oh, and I pretty much stuck to the list depsite me forgetting to take it with me. I am feeling pretty awesome at the moment.
    :D

One last thing after reading all these posts... I better buy less than my budget for all four weeks as I never realised there was five this month.
    :rotfl:

Oh yeah... and all these people saying tescimos are not out to help us save money... complete baloney... They have ran out of cookie dough poptarts so they helped me save £3.50!!
