I can assure you 100% that all the talk of Amazon purposely delaying is complete nonsense. Out of every company i've ever dealt with or known, they are the ones who take their customer happiness most seriously. If you want a company to be dealing with a messed up order it's Amazon.

Are you a regular Amazon customer? I buy in batches then wont use them for ages. Maybe they dispatch faster if you have not bought for a while or maybe the opposite the more you spend the faster they send it?

Most items arrive fairly quickly with Amazon. But i have the same issue with ebuyer. Free 5 day delivery is actually next day delivery sent 4 days later.
Happened several times now so not an isolated incident.

Mind you ebuyer used/use? Citylink who sent 2 drivers on the same run area both going to the same customers. Clever logistics.
Whatever they pay their route planner is way too much.

What if there were so many parcels for that area on the particular day is justified 2 vans?
  • Amazon are fantastic for delivering, I always use the free delivery and get my items pretty quick, sometimes they have been despatched right away and I've got them the next day!

I just dread it if they send a parcel with Yodel, but not had that for a while now, it was City Link last time I ordered a Juicer from them!

Also only had to use customer services one for sending back a large item, and they were fantastic, really helpful!

I used to work for them. And no, that's 100% untrue, everyone gets processed as quickly as possible.

Before i worked there, and since, i've never had an item Fulfilled by Amazon or 'better' (ie, not from 3rd party sellers) that has come wrong or faulty, and even if it did Amazon would replace it for you free of charge of give you your money back. They don't call themselves 'the world's most customer-centric company' for nothing - i thought it was all spin before i worked there, but the reality is that inside the customer service building the staff really do have the customer at the forefront of their mind, and that's staff, team leads, team managers, floor managers, the transport manager....everyone from top to bottom.

I don't know if there is any deliberate delaying of super saver orders.
Personally I have noticed a downturn in service. Whereas a year or two ago I got SS items so quick the idea of paying for Prime was laughable. Items came in 1-3 days. But lately things are taking longer, both with Amazon and Royal Mail. Nothing has come next day in ages and even had one come several days past Amazon's delivery estimate which are always super generous. Also a Subscribe and Save item being sent RM48 arriving 3-4 working days after dispatch. Yes i have now considered Prime.

I emailed about the first delayed delivery to highlight the poor service from RM and got basically a cut and paste reply so I didn't bother the second time. If it happens again I will.

I find the combination of two things lead to a free and 100% satisfactory service from Amazon.

    Supersaver Delivery + Patience.

    Never fails.

Azari, as I said in my first post, the service is free so I am not going to complain.
That doesn't take away the fact though that there has been a down turn for me in terms of the quality of the service provided by Amazon with Super Saver Delivery. I am still happy to be getting free delivery from them but the service has gone downhill over all IMO for me.

My comment wasn't directed at you.

I was more thinking of the people who make posts complaining about Amazon prime because they don't get their items the next day (which is fair enough since they are paying for that). I just wonder what on earth they keep buying that they need in such a hurry and why they can't do a bit of forward planning.

I ordered some stuff this morning so it will be interesting to see how long it takes. It's current status is 'despatching now' which generally means it'll be sent today but does not guarantee it.

    I'd guess Wednesday for delivery.
