Impossible to be served by a human being in Tesco

Again when my mum is on to assist with the self service people will just stand there and grunt at her to indicate that something is wrong rather than asking.
I would hazard a guess that it is a much worse job to be assisting with the self-service machines than serving at a deskout. Firstly the person has to stand up rather than sit down, and secondly they have to deal with people getting angry and frustrated with the machines a lot of the time.0 -

Not only that, but you have to deal with more people at once as well.
the store i worked at, had 12 self service tills, which means you had to watch all 12 simultaneously. As well as watching for thieves down certain aisle.
The worst is when you get customers who have no intention of self serving and expect you do it all for them then being screaming at because another customer also needed help.
I actually got into trouble twice on the self services, first because i told the customer they should do it themselves (managers told us not to do everything for them). 2nd time was because i did help them out0 -
