I was going to use the last few spoonfuls of plain flour at the weekend but when I seived it I was left with about 4 or 5 things in the bottom of the seive. They weren't moving but looked like a thickish piece of cotton about 4 or 5mm long and a sort of beigey colour, perhaps they looked furryish as they were coverd in flour. I had a look at the links to weevils etc but couldn't find anything that loked similar. Any ideas anyone?
By the way I threw all the flour out, didn´t do any baking and now have SR flour in the freezer hopefully killing off anything else0 -
I was about to make an apple cake with some bramleys I'd got in store when I noticed the wholemeal flour I had was BBE 03/07 (as well as being plain not SR  and I couldn't remember how much baking powder to add to convert it either!
However I thought I should look closely at the flour and saw one or two little black insects, not many mind, but I binned it nevertheless.
Were they weevils? I always imagined they would be wriggly creatures _pale_:wave:0 -

Extra bit of protein in your pies! The flour might not be suitable for veggies tho:eek:Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0 -
Once youve got them in your kitchen they are notoriously hard to get rid of.The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

Oooooh er!
No I don't think the flour had weevils in it, the little critters in my flour were tiny and didn't appear to have legs or anything.
I don't know whether to thank you or notthat is just gross, ewwwwwwwwww!

If you keep your flour in an airtight plastic container they can't get in.0
