thanks Jessy- you are right. Id been overworked and stressed there for years, its one of those places where the managers just leave everyone to struggle and turn a blind eye, and the lazy people get away with murder because they always got an answer for why they cant take any more on, and its easier for the managers to pile more on to the easy targets that dont argue back..
Oh well, not my worry now, ive got a few months to sort out something i really want to do, i know work is work, its to pay bills, but id love to find a job doing something where i actually feel like ive helped someone, and get a bit of satisfaction for my hard work. I dont fancy another office job.. we will have to see how things pan out..current official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

Shame about the job, but sounds like it's going to be manageable for you. And at least you're not stuck working with the work avoider - I don't know how those types of people get away with it, but nice to think they will now be exposed 🤣!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Sorry to hear about the job and hopefully it turns into an opportunity to find somewhere that you'll be appreciated.
Best wishes for the next chapter.....

thanks for the kind words guys!
its a strange time to be out of work, but im sure we will get through this and i will find a job ... at the moment im employed until 14th october so cant start anywhere else or i lose my redundancy and notice pay which is annoying as it means i cant really apply for a few weeks, as im sure employers wont want to wait 2 months if they need someone straight away..
overpaid £5 to mortgage this morning, and £10.35 to loan, both from account tidies
im going to make the best of my free time, this will be the longest time off work ive ever had, and hopefully in a few months i will be back to the grind, so i might as well enjoy it! its just a shame the worry of finding work hangs over everything, and plans have to be put on hold..
i enjoy a challenge, and frugal saving is my speciality ..current official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

Up early, the fur babies fed and mucked out.. there are loads of birds gorging on the feed ive just put out for them, including pheasants and rabbits!! i love watching them all out of the kitchen window. its so funny, i have literally up to a dozen pheasants running behind me as i head for the kitchen door after mucking out, as they know its food time.. it all started when i threw a handful of wild bird food onto the grass while topping up the feeders a couple of years ago, the crowds get bigger everyday!
Had a £75 win on the p.bondsthats set to re-invest to add to the energency fund.. a good start to the month..
Im doing a meal plan, i want to use up the freezer contents this month so i can de-frost and have a fresh start next month. I have a habit of buying more food, when theres stuff there already, and then the freezer is rammed with stuff , so thats my August grocery challenge, along with keeping the weekly cost as low as possible to allow at least small weekly overpayments..current official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

right, back from weekly shop.. transferred the £6 left over to my overpayment saving pot
made a small overpayment of £2.17 to round my balance to £198,780love a tidy balance!!
ive done a stock check, and we have enough food for the whole of augusts meals, along with sandwiches which we have 3 times a week for tea with crisps and a yoghurt, so ive made a meal plan, and the only thing i will need to buy are fruit/veg/milk/bread/yoghurts/cheese/orange juice/butter and the odd item ive forgot . Ive stocked up on washing tabs and and fabric conditioner for the month, next week will be t.roll for the month stock up, i try to bulk buy one item a week so i always have stock of the basics, works for mecurrent official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

A damp start today here.. we have a lame sheep, and as we have them in a neighbours field, we need to make a plan on how to catch the little blighter to check her foot, not going to be easy
things ticking over in financials, no overpayment today, just transferred £4.99 to overpayment account, a rounding off of hubbys weekly wage payment
