Well, what a couple of days!
i awoke monday night as my sixth sense must have picked up the bluddy tank leak had worsened, and water was dripping downstairs..
so, 1am in the morning, hubby had to shovel contents of fire out, before draining the hot water tank.
After a call to the plumber the next day, we have arranged for the tank replacing, which is being done in the morning. At a unplanned bout covered by emergency fund of £620 , this is higher cos we have to have stainless steel tank etc due to the acidic water from our borehole..
For the last two days ive had to manage boiling kettles for washing up, and i bought horsey a new large water trug, which for the last two nights i have used first, as a makeshift strip wash tub in the bath,:rotfl: oh the joys of living off grid
tommorow , all being well, im having the biggest bubble bath soak ever!! and we we will have heating again, typical weather , being damp /wet and cool last two days cos we cant have range on..
on a positive note, i made an overpayment of £15.54, rounding the mortgage balance to a neater £210,640 .. its the little things...:rotfl:current official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

Where has May gone:eek:
We have had lots of lovely sunshine, meaning lots of riding in the evening, meaning neglected diary...:o
We have had a busy month with work and life, so looking forward to a break. We have next week off.. the plan is walling repairs, which will be a summer long and possibly next summer too ongoing project.
We have puchased materials, sand, cement lime at not a great deal of expense, so just labour (ours) needed
Tuesday is hubbys pay day, mine today, so will do budget then, and savings to p.bonds/mortgage overpayment.
I have increased hours at work by an hour a day helping to cover for staff shortage, which will mean approx £165 extra takehome.
Im planning on saving that for a future small business venture, hopefully summer 2020current official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

Another glorious morning :j
Chickens were making their noise to be released at 5.45am, so i rolled out of bed to let them out, and took chunks the horse out to his field too.
The sun was shining, and the sheep and lambs were happily tootling on the moor ajoining his field, also a red kite was flying over!! what a lovely sight..
Curlews too with their strange long beaks were flying over making their weird call, i think they sound like what youd imagine the landing warning on a spaceship would sound like :rotfl:
It is hard sometimes getting up early after a busy week to see to the animals, but you see so many wonderful moments its so worth it.
i feel blessed to live in this wild back of beyond place surrounded by natural beauty..
ive been reading a fantastic book- the world i fell out of- by melanie reid- its so humbling and makes you appreciate every minute of your life, i highly recommend it!:)current official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

had a busy week at work, im doing extra hour a day for a few months as covering another role for maternity leave, so a few extra pounds each month :j
Had fun catching the sheep for shearing  also on removal of thick fleece, we discovered a large testicle on our supposedly castrated tup, looks like the band missed!!
so as he is going nowhere and is resident lawn mower, we now have to get vet booked for end of month to remove the offending dangly bit, as his testosterone levels need curbing, he lives with his twin sister too, so sooner the better :eek:current official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for
