We have been busy fencing horses summer field, we have quite a bit left to complete for the end of the month when hopefully he can start going back in it again. The electric fence we used last year wasnt enough, as the naughty sheep kept ramming the posts and letting him out :rotfl:
Hopefully the four rails on this fencing will keep the woolley ones fron releasing him, and i can rest easy knowing he is safe.

This months pay day, we bough more fencing materials, and paid £750 off the diy loan, which is coming down nicely :)

February came to a sad end for us, as the little chicken chased over the fence by the loose dog died. i think the trauma she went through was more than we realised poor little mite.
We made a little grave for her , shes buried alongside my father in laws ashes we spread last year in a lovely spot.

    we miss her little character..:(

Oh so sad to hear that i can imagine how attached you must become to them all .

Your numbers are all looking brilliant as usual and month 14 how did that happen seems like the other day you started the plan

Thanks tryharder, we really do get attached to the animals, they become family. I think its the time you spend together, you really see each ones character.. even a male pheasant that has been with us since we moved in, and runs to be fed and follows us while we are working out doors is like one of the family :rotfl:

Ive been out and fed everyone this morning, and back in bed foe cup of tea and diary catch up.. hubby due home any minute, then its egg and soldiers, then outside to muck out, and if its not bucketing down with rain, im hoping to get out for a ride, tho im not hopeful as its being soggy all week and windy.. that lull in winter last week needs to return..

im having a cash week next week to keep to grocery/fuel/animal feed budget.
I set the budget for the month every payday for these, and use the c/c, which i pay in full every month.
Ive decided to be a lot more strict with this, as i had tended to go over budget most months, and having to use what could be overpayments, to clear overspends on the card.

I am using my saved personal spends to pay for next weeks food/fuel and animal feed, then as my c/c date is 12th of month, i will restart my budget, and hopefully stick to it!
Its so easy to get lazy with watching spending, and with extra costs for fencing etc, i need to be on top of it if we are going to make those mortgage overpayments each month..

my grocery/fuel/animal feed budget has come in under the alloted ammount this week :j must keep this up!

We have had snow, then heavy rain, then strong wind and rain together, then a mixture uncluding a thunder storm, all in the last 6 days:eek: im heartily sick of soggy days now..

Im looking forward to pay days this month, and im planning on dividing everything after the bills have been in between rebuilding savings that we borrowed for diy, and a decent mortgage overpayment.
im happy to report that we havent gone over budget on the c/card, so will be no extra there to find, so all spare cash can be used for my savings/overpaying :T

All animals fed, then had half hour in bed with cuppa and diary catch ups..

Today as weather is poo i will make brekky for hubby and i, our usual favorite- egg end soldiers :), then mucking out horse, house cleaning, then tea and snuggle up with hubby..

Hoping for a dry day tommorow so i can get out exploring the countryside on horseback, i can see all the trees are starting to bud, i love spring :j even if the weather plays havoc with our plans.

well, what a day yesterday was!!

We had torrential rain and wind, and at 10;50am the power went off:eek: it was 7pm last night when at last it came back on..
Thankfully i had a good supply of candles, and after getting soaked seeing to the animals , there was hot water heated by our stove to have a soak in the bath after a unplanned takeaway that hubby and daughter collected from nearby village who had power still..

This morning the sun is trying to appear, but snow was falling at 7
am when i was doing morning feeds..

Lets see if it will stay fine and we can get out for a ride today..

    :)

    good morning everyone!

This week has been a lot better weather-wise, managed 3!! rides- after work, cant wait till clocks go forward, will be able to have longer than an hour so we can go a bit further. On wednesday it was nearly dark as we got back, the full moon lit up the way!!:rotfl: And a deer was peeping at us from the lane approacing our house. Thankfully horse didnt spot it, as im not sure if he is ok with them, and id hate to have him spin in fear and find myself hurtling back the way we had just come at top speed:eek::rotfl:
