    quick update:)

Im still off work with the dreaded flu, still feeling like could be pushed over with a feather, raw throat, ache all over .. as you can tell im feeling teensy bit sorry for myself:o

On a positive note, my wages gone in, so to cheer myself up ive paid this months savings :j

I really want to push on and get as much cleared from mortgage as i can (10% in 2015), and as much saved to clear it completely in August 2016 as i can, today mortgage d/d gone out, will update sig when payment cleared :)

December is dedicated to the dreaded gift buying(sound a right scrooge dont i !) so not planning on any savings, but lets see. I dont save for xmas all year, just pay for lot in december and sacrifice a months savings, works for us!:)

Hope you are feeling better soon Sammy! Flu really is awful! :(

You don't sound like a scrooge (too much lol) - i absolutely love Xmas, but abhor the commercial/present aspect of it which seems to become bigger and more distateful with each passing year... . I would happily ban all forms of xmas presents with my friends and family (other than free or homemade!)....i'm trying in vain to win them all round! :D

Thanks JHH1982! I totally agree with you on the xmas presents, too many people are made to feel crap /depressed/ stressed because of feeling they have to spend ever increasing amounts on expensive tat, when at the end of the day it should be about spending fun time with the ones you love, having a nice meal together, family time that in our ever more pressurized world we all crave more of, instead people put themselves through months of stress buying gifts that they can't afford. I would love to ban the expensive gift buying, lets go back to traditional xmas, family all together,a good meal lovingly prepared,a small well thought out token gift each, so we can start the new year happier, xmas debt free, children not worried about mum and dad arguing over xmas costs.. though thankfully my kids are grown up now and we as family are lucky enough all to work, we have decided on a fixed amount to spend and that will stay the same, my kids are told not to go over the top, a thoughtful gift means more than expensive keeping up with the sheep gifts! i feel for parents struggling to afford it, with small children who feel deserve the same as their friends, getting into debt to pay for a toy/game that as soon as the new year begins the manufacturer will bring out its bigger/better replacement to start the cycle all over again!
    oh my,im ranting:rotfl:

Oh well, i dont care, come on folks, heres to not following the crowd/sheep, lets just enjoy a family xmas, our families dont need expensive gifts to prove we love em!:j

:j Today i moved all our money around , savings targets met, all bills covered, im now sat working out December budget. I have planned to use December savings for all xmas gifts/food etc. I cant help feeling the urge to make some sort of payment to our mortgage free fund in December though, it just seems so wrong missing a month!

So pen and paper out, im gonna find a way to please everyone with xmas, and still make a payment, all in budget, mmm here goes..:)

Right, after my workings out, if we stick to savings/bills/xmas budget, we will have approx £352 left after December pay gone in and everything paid out.
My plan is to make a lump overpayment on xmas eve to the mortgage :) but im not satisfied with £352! im going to push myself to save a little more by being carefull with random spends and groceries, and see if we can make it £500!

My 2015 challenge is to overpay 10% of the mortgage, whilst keeping the savings up, so i thought a mortgage overpayment in December would get me fired up for our 2015 mortgage free challenges too!:j

ive decided to get organised and go back to online grocery shop. As it builds up to xmas, the supermarkets just get worse, and to top it off last week all the tills crashed in tesco, i was really lucky, i arrived just as it had happened, the queues got bigger and bigger, the only till working was customer service! in the end people were just walking out and leaving full trolleys.. they stopped people coming in. i had steady walk round hoping they would come back to life, but no! i couldn't believe my luck, as i had completed shop, a tesco employee guided me to the pharmacy, who rang the lot through..:D but after this, ive decided the delivery fee is same as cost for fuel, i tend to buy less, and it frees up at least 2 hours of a saturday, so it just makes sense!:)

Ive booked next weeks slot already, no delivery slots for xmas week showing yet though, will keep checking daily! i hate the big xmas week shop, though i dont go mad, its the busy carpark, people shopping as if the worlds gonna end, panic buying every loaf/pint o milk, its crazy! Anything that saves time and reduces stress has to be a good thing!

Hopefully, sticking strictly to my list will save cash towards overpayments too:rotfl:

My, this week has flown by!:)

I think other than grocery shop we have everything sorted for xmas:D

Until pay day i wont be able to add anything else to the xmas eve overpayment fund, i'm just concentrating on not over spending on groceries, general day to day spends etc;)

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

this time in a fortnight, xmas will be over, its only a day, so my word of wisdom is don't stress over spending loads on gifts, its about family! a smaller well thought out gift will be loved as much, and who wants to be paying for xmas gifts in June when you wont even be able to remember what you bought!

Dont give in to commercialism! :)
