well June so far has been a washout for my little cafe in the sticks, so not a lot of saving going on!
Positives-
Winter 26 fuel bought and paid for
Paid years tax on my little van
Got chimney swept
Sheep sheared
New grate made for fire- old one was ancient and dropping to bits
Few maintinence repairs to car
The weekend weather is looking ok, hopefully no rain for once will get people out and calling for food and drinks!

a dull windy morning here, not sure how busy my little cafe in the sticks will be, but i will just have to make the best of it as ive been closed all week due to the constant rain..
We visited M.I.L in the care home yesterday, very tough on my hubby to witness ,such a cruel disease, she has advanced dementia and despite being put on end of life care 3 months ago, is hanging on.

A fresh working week, and the weather is looking a lot better, warmer and less rain at last..
This week van is in the garage for work, i think june is going to be our most expensive month…
Sons birthday on Sunday, so planning a nice meal, he gets to choose.
Yesterday we had a bit of a challenging day, one incident- got a free car wash from the garage that did the work on our car last week, and decided to use it on the way to the cash and carry. Half way through the machine just stopped, we were sat there like lemons, as we darent get out in case it re-started, i was just about to ring the garage to rescue us, when a kind old guy went and told them, it was quickly re-started, and we ended up having to go through the whole process again. Value for money- two washes in one!

1st of the month balance of our project fund stands at £8005/£22000
The weather is lovely this week, lots of weeding to do , making the most of living in the beautiful yorkshire countryside by getting out in the garden, and having some lovely rides out with chunky cob.
my little trail side cafe should be fairly busy thankfully. The heatwave meant last week i was closed for 3 days..

oh my its been AGES since i updated my diary!!
Savings for DIY projects now stands at £18,479, though it wont be getting as much added shortly as my cafe will be soon on reduced hours, then closed for winter,,
Its been a good summer, ive been really busy, and to be honest im now getting to that stage of being ready to sit back at bit and re-charge my batteries. Ive been working 6 days a week, and my only day off is always filled with tasks, either taking parents to appointments, my own life laundry, animals and everything else that people usually fit in on days off.
Today ive got the day off, as ive felt ill , achy and tired out, and im having me day to potter and get ready for a busy weekend, so my day is as follows-
muck out my chunky cob, get haynets filled etc, feed sheep and chickens
Tesco shop, as we are out of everything, and we are trying to lose weight after too many quick fattening treats while rushing about the last few months
An hours housework hopefully with help from hubby
take chunky cob for a walk to graze the lane, as he hasnt much grass in his field, and im too tired to ride
Early bath/bed with my book, followed by hopefully a good restoring nights sleep!
