Good evening fellow mfwbs!
Ive neglegetd my diary the last couple of weeks, life/work been hectic!
Hubby and i had lovely romantic weekend away to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, cant believe we've been married a year! I love that man to bits!:kisses3:
The weekend was followed by doggy being ill, she has eaten something on a walk in typical spaniel style, resulting in ending up at the vets in the middle of the night, two days and over £600 later shes fighting fit, our emergency fund is feeling ill tho!:(
We have made an extra £700 premium bond purchase this month as well as the standard £800, so we now have £14,000 in them for our mortgage pay off on 01/08/16!:j
Im on stoptober challenge to replenish our savings, so the purse strings are pulled tight! lets see...:D
I will update my signature tomorrow when mortgage balance has updated:)
Thats enough for now i think!

To do this, im budgeting carefully for food/fuel/spends, i will be doing shopping lists and sticking to them, and trying for as many no spending days as possible.;)
Today, i can report i spent £3 on 18 free range eggs, and thats it.:)
Happy saving everyone!

Good evening peeps
Im looking forward to a relaxing weekend, nothing strenuous or stressful, just food shop (small and with list), catching up on house chores, then the best bit, some lovely country walks with hubby, snuggling in front of a film saturday night with a couple of drinks/treats, and just generally enjoying being with my hubby and chilling out
Hey, we've had our first premium bond win, £25! not a life changing amount :rotfl: but its a start! :j
Also on the money making/ saving, spent £5 today on essential shop (bread, fruit, yoghurt), made nearly £10 in interest on two matured savings accounts, and £1.87 quidco payout :T it all adds up!

We are half way through the month, and shopping budget is going really well, im using up freezer contents so we can defrost it friday;)
Im starting to plan xmas, we have discussed as a family , we arent going mad, we have no little children, so the main thing is spending quality time as a family, we have never been ones for over spending on xmas though thankfully, our kids will mainly have cash and a couple of small gifts to open on the morning

Heres my positives towards our goal of new rural home
:j Made successful ppi claim, fought it out, went to ombudsman after shoddy process where our points were ignored, general crap customer service, and after over a year, from start to now, WE WON!, the ombudsman upheld our complaint, we are awaiting offer now, no idea of amount, but every penny is going towards our mortgage fund , which shows, persistence pays! :T
Saved £50 again from grocery/ personal spends. Next week i'm reducing the regular grocery spends, as i'm obviously over estimating what we use.
Gas and electric costs down by £25 ish
£200 from overtime earned which covers petrol for the month
I think thats enough for one week!:):)
Have a lovely evening everyone

Tonight i check all direct debits are paid, transfer savings , purchase premium bonds, and work out the budget for food etc up to next pay day. It is only by sticking to a spending/saving budget that we will get our forever home, and its all worth it!
