I think the saves £8,000 a year quote a year by using public transport.
They could have saved lots of money by choosing a smaller car and driving it in a more economical manner.
The only way I could see these kind of savings is driving across London going into the congestion charge etc, paying to park in expensive car parks ec.
Though the person who wrote the quoted is more than welcome to say how it saves them money0 -
I guess if the car is on hire purchase then that will cost a few thousand a year too. And if the car is updated every few years then that could be an ongoing payment.0

How are you working out that public transport would cost that much?0 -

But from a money saving forum, we could recommend getting a cheaper car and not updating that often.
So its not switching to public transport. He could have saved plenty of money by changing car options etc.0 -

If I got the train to work.
It would cost £3 bus to the train station.
£33 for train.
£3 bus fair from station to work.
SO £39 a day. * 5 = £190 a week. * 48 week working year = £9300 a year.
This would not include social use of my car. I live in a city and work in another city. If I lived and worked in the country side, these figures would be more. Okay I can get year pass etc.
Plus my journey time would increase substantially as well.
However saying that. I rather be a passenger than driver so I could read the paper, play games while traveling.0 -

If you got a bus and train pass it would cost a fraction of that. Train passes depend on the journey but bus passes cost £600-£1,000 depending on the area.
Personally, I use the car because a 5 min journey to work would become more like 1 hour since there's no direct bus between home and work. If I did use public transport for a long journey I'd probably try be productive and take my netbook with me and do something I'd normally do at home.0 -

They are venting at a vent on the venting board - seems a proper use of the board to me.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0
