forgot to say happy birthday to the Haribos!!!
((hugs)) joannasmum - you might just be having a down mood, not necessarily depression again - but i understand - you automatically start thinking am i going down that road again - try to keep thinking positive xxx0 -
aw thank you lovely people for the birthday wishes for the girls.
I think they were a bit excited this morning judging by the fact that they woke me at 5.30 am
Managed to put them off until 7 though.
They're packed off to school with their fairy cakes for the class. I spelled out happy Birthday and they're names on top of little marzipan hearts and they were chuffed to bits. And yes I do have repetative strain injury from patting myself on the back for being a good mummy.:rotfl:
I'm helping OH out in the office until 2 then will pick the kids up and do something with them until tea. I made lasagne by special birthday request last night so we're having that and birthday cake for tea then they're off to the school disco. Party postponed until saturday.
So excited yesterday to see my turnips poking through. I'm not quite sure what i expected but OH found it hard to understand my excitement.
Any way I'd better go and do some work.
have a good day all!!
Haribo x
PS. Pink I think all the rain we're having is God's way of telling you to get inside and clean your house!!It's only about six weeks till I'm over so I'd get started if I were you.
PPS well done on the weight loss Taplady and hope your and Scuzz's OH's are better soon.
(((HUGS)))) to Joannasmum0 -
Morning :hello:
((((scuzz)))), hope they find out what's wrong with BF soon.
I'm feeling a bit poor after my laptop purchase yesterdaybut needs must. I know what you mean, SnowyOwl, I would have hoped that my laptop would last more than 3 years (it's actually about 3.5 but still, I was sort of working on the financial principle that it should have had a 5 year lifespan) At least I am spending less this time, but that's always the way with technology isn't it. And once again, I'm hoping that the new one lasts 5 years. It's not as if I'm a great user of cutting-edge technology or anything - I just need something for email, internet, word-processing, Excel, and some minor photo editing... so it really shouldn't go completely out of date until it dies of its own accord (famous last words I know!) The spec of the old one was perfectly adequate... it just didn't work
Tasks for today:
- Work (should actually get some stuff done today as my boss is out this afternoon so no interruptions!)
- Check TheTrainline for a journey to Norfolk which I *might* need to make in July for the interment of my grandparents' ashes. The reason I *might* need to make the journey is that my cousin *might* be driving, and depending on her plans I *might* be able to get a lift. Must speak to her about it, I'll be seeing her on Saturday - if I leave it much longer I'll miss out on any cheap train fares.
- Do some brain-achingly complicated calculations to enable me to work out the most cost-effective way of paying for my public transport needs after my current annual pass expires on 1st July.
- Draw up a shopping list to remedy the fact that besides a full-to-bursting freezer, I seem to be out of everything - fresh food, storecupboard items, cleaning products, toiletries, you name it...
- Go to a concert, which may not cost me anything, as the (very cheap) ticket is already paid for and I think the programme will be free - the danger point will be if I run into friends and end up in the pub
Love 'n' hugs

pooky - are you still doing the P.Mckenna cd?? do you have the one cd or the 5 set?
I've got just the one CD - to be honest I've not had time to do it for the past couple of weeks what with half term etc. I'd dropped a size with it which was great but since then my fertility medications been double dosed which is making me really bloated and I'm retaining so much water that I feel 6 times bigger.
How's it going for you?
Good luck at the dentist all who are going - I only go when there's a real problem - last time I went was the first time in 10 years, I'd broken a tooth and the dentist was amazed that my teeth were in such good condition"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

Amie where r u this a.m.? Suffering from over indulgence on Tuesday maybe?
Thought I would share this with you this morning.
Before I left work yesterday I printed of N9eav’s Alice Springs Chicken Recipe, then got up and went home, forgetting to collect it from the printer.:o
As a bit of a background, I usually cook things very plainly, for two reasons, one I do not like the flavour of onion and/or garlic and DH isn't that keen either, though I am trying very hard to slowly wean myself onto them as it is very restricting when cooking anything different and eating out, and second DH has a bit fat intolerance which upsets his stomach with too much acid, very painful (well he is male! so I suffer too!). For years I have been trying to lose weight, and the only successful time was when I was 25 (30 years ago) and then I had to go on a 800 calorie diet under the hospital dietician. As anyone trying it will know there is no room for anything other than veg/salad and grilled meat/fish on that type of diet, so usually just grill meat/fish plainly, though sometimes I allow myself a cream and/or cheese sauce which DH cannot eat. However, recently DH has been saying that things have no taste, but it is limiting on a BBQ, he is not fond of pork or lamb, only likes Fillet Steak so it is a rare treat, which leaves chicken which is bland when solo, and sausages.
Got home looked in my fridge, and saw the Lidl Turkey joint I had cut some steaks off for a BBQ earlier in the week (which was very plain), and though I would cook that. As I hadn’t got the recipe, and hadn’t yet logged on at home, I tried to remember some of the ingredients. I remembered honey, which I had bought some on Monday from Lidl, and Mustard, DS had got some Whole Grain Mustard to make a sauce when he was home, so I spread some mustard on the top of the joint and poured some honey over. I popped in the oven, my combination microwave for 20 mins at 200 deg. Had a look after the 20mins and not looking bad, but didn’t think the meat was cooking enough, so switched it onto the automatic chicken program. I went to prepare the veg. Turned round a short while later to find that the sauce was cooking like toffee, extremely well cooked toffee at that!  The result was a slightly bitter honey toffee sauce, but at least DH didn’t complain the Turkey was bland and had a taste of nothing! I have pictures of the black dish, will try to load them tonight. - Well at least I tried!:o :rotfl: :rotfl:
Other than that watched The Apprentice, didn’t rate his decision this year at all! Tidied up as it’s cleaner day today, loaded up the loft with some of DS’s things he will not need until September, as he has more to bring back from uni yet. DH kept the Washer and Dryer fed so up to date with that too.
Take care all

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Hi Oldstylers,
Time for another drop in to let you all know how things are going here in the kiwi house.
I have been admitted to hospital twice now with my bulimia and the scare it gave me seems to have done the trick as things now seem to be getting on track. I am under the care of an Eating Disorders Unit. Its a bit strange as I am having to have regular blood tests and ECGs to make sure I havent affected my heart too badly. Things seem to be OK for the moment so I am hopeful that all will be OK in the long term.
I have opened my own online bank account, BIG THANKS TO MOGGINS, I think it was you hun with the F U Fund. So now I have my own which I am squirreling little bits into when I can. I hope to treat myself to something pampering when I am more on the mend - a bit of a reward for all the hardwork!!!
Part of my recovery is to try and loose weight sensibly and to concentrate on fitness rather than the image in the mirror. I am doing a midnight half marathon walk next month for the Iain Rennie Hospice. I have posted on the charities board in the hope that I'll nab an extra £1 or 2 sponsorship for them, its such a worthwhile cause and I have to say I am even looking forward to it!!!
I am still very involved with the PTA at the kids school, am chairman and we have just had our summer fete. We had a FANTASTIC day and managed to raise a staggering and record breaking sum - £4587!!!!! Can you believe it!!!! All the hard work paid off and the kids have even written thankyou letters to the committee which was a real heartwarmer.
I do check in from time to time to see what you are all up to. I love you all and thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support you have shown me both on the boards and through PMs over these last months. It means a huge amount to me.
Love to all.

Hi again,
kiwichick Lovely to hear from you again and so nice to see that things are going well for you. ((hugs))
donny-gal :rotfl: :rotfl: at the toffee-coated turkey.
Well, as I have worked 15 1/2 hours overtime so far at job no.1 this month I decided to treat myself today and only work 3 hours at job no.2. The thought of photocopying for four hours was just too much so I asked to finish an hour early. With that extra hour I have been able to get to the Post Office, supermarket, put the shopping away, put a load of washing on, put the dry clothes away and plan tonight's dinner and now, as a reward, here I am posting on here.
Will be leaving soon as I have to pick DD up just that little bit earlier from high school than her DB. I can't wait to hear what she has to say about it.
Well, the washing has finished so I must go and hang it on the airer as it is STILL raining here.
Have a good afternoon. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Taplady - Well done on the extra weigh loss, you are doing really well!!!
Kiwi - lovely to see you posting today, i often wonder how you are!!! Its lovely that you are sounding more positive (and well done with the school fate!!!) and i hope things will stay on the up for you xxx
Well, not done much so far today, but did find a £2 coin on the floor this morning, so that was a nice piece of luck!!!
Have made butternut squash and sweet potato soup, and have swiped the kitchen, bathroom and toilets - have loads of paperwork to do (did my tax return yesterday tho, so that was a good job out of the way!!!) but at the mo i have 3 LOs here, so maybe later - i think i might go and play with some cars and building blocks, much more fun than paperwork!!!!
Well, better get on, Lo has decided he doesnt want to sleep, so im going to play with him instead!
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Anyone heard from Amie or Anniestar lately???0

Good afternoon all!
Well it's been a funny old couple of days chez Churchmouse, but I will not scream and rant, no I really won't    The fact that i may be without my broadband for up to 1 month:eek:  is not in the least annoying. It does not warrant a scream that Pipex couldn't organise a p*ss-up in a brewery! As you will gather I'm not the happiest bunny in London today:o Oh well, if I must insist on moving my telephone line to another line socket, all of 5 feet away, well I deserve what i get don't I?:rotfl: They weren't even that bothered after they said I'd have to be a whole new customer with tie-ins etc, that I told them *no thank you* or words to that effect:rotfl::rotfl: I suppose I should've taken this to the vent board, but after seeing how they flame you there, thought I'd just burden you lot:D Deep breaths, deep breaths.
Right I feel better now;) Kiwi, how lovely to come on and read your post!:D
Glad things are coming under control, but most importantly that you're getting support, and seem much happier. What a result with the fundraiser:T :T You all must have worked so hard to raise that much, but I bet it was satisfying.
scuzz, poor BF!! Do hope he is feeling better today, and that the Docs have figured out what it is. (((hugs)) to you both.
:bdaycake: :bdaycake: There you go, Dtwins Haribo, a cake each!! Hope you both have a lovely day today, and then a great party on Saturday!!!
I have searched the house for the Father's Day card I bought over a week ago. I've made tons of mess and can't find it anywhere! Just shows it doesn't work for me to be too organised.:rotfl: I shall now go out and buy another one and put it straight in the post to my Dad (well after writing a message:D )
(((hugs)))) to Mrs Mix DD, hope the throat improves.
Aussie, hope your hair is sorted or that you have a big hat!:p
Well I'd best go get this card,
CMxYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0
