Still don't get what you're trying to get at.No I'm not that's exactly the one I've got.0

The APR is not irrelevant at all. As an accurate indicator of the cost of borrowing, it is entirely relevant and a useful comparison tool where competition is otherwise distorted by complicated prices.
Please don't quote parts of an sentance. In the context it was in the APR is irrelevent, the end user wants the phone and is willing to pay the costs.
Making sure people make informed decisions is one thiing, but at the end of the day whats best for one person is not for another.0 -
Still don't get what you're trying to get at.
If your deal is £0+24x£41 for 16Gb, it is much better as it's just 13.4%APR. However even for you it makes sense to pay 13.4% only if you don't have any savings that would be very unwise for such a 'high-earner'.0 -
So you're paying £41/month rather than the usual price of £15/month. Therefore over 24 months, you're paying £984 instead of £360, i.e. £624 more. Three have included a £549 phone, but you're still paying £75 more than the usual price for the combined goods and service.
I would've paid £984 when my contract finish on the 5s where if I would of bought the phone for £549 plus £15 x 24 I would've paid £909 so are you trying to tell me we are having a debate over £75 or £3 extra a month whatever way you want to look at it?0 -
You say "£75 or £3".
We say "13.4% APR".
I think the latter makes more sense for any money-wise person.
That said, I agreed that 13.4% wasn't a daylight robbery.0 -

£75 in a 2-year period is the interest you can currently get on £1250 saved in the top cash ISA.
And stop thinking in terms of 2 years. Imagine holding and throwing to a bin £75 in banknotes.0 -
I reckon iPhone snobbery and its related Stockholm syndrome is still alive and well when someone can have it explicitly pointed out how to save on the contract, on a thread started for that exact purpose, and then say so what.
I suppose it's true though that it's not quite as dramatic as the case for the higher spec phone on the £52 contract.0
