Grrrrr I've biked all the way to the swimming pool and the little pool is closed off due to lessons being given. How bleeding annoying.
I've had to come to the funky fun house instead as lil man was all revved up to do something. I've just had to cough up a quid for a pair of flipping socks so I can go play with him. :mad:Life is not about learning to avoid the storms - it's about learning to dance in the rain.0 -
Emily_Rachel wrote: »Hello, I could be wrong, but I think 160,000 very unlikely to be accepted. On the other hand who knows? I do know house prices vary widely throughout the UK, but I have just sold a house in East Sussex, and would not have even considered such a 'discounted' offer of 20% under my asking price. Especially from the first people viewing it. Unless the house is vastly overvalued, or they are desperate, I would guess they would be unlikely to consider anything less than 190,000, and they are more likely to consider that offer too low and counter offer you with 198,000 or so. If you make any offer you also need to make yourself attractive as a buyer. I don't mean new suit and haircut! The seller needs to know that you are a cash buyer, or have ideally sold your house, are not in a chain, and have a prospective mortgage pre-arranged, and (usually) are able to move fast. It is not really such a buyers market any more now prices are rising, and you do still run the risk of being gazumped if they get a better offer. You could try talking to some local estate agents about that sort of house in that area to get a really good idea of market conditions around you before making your first offer. Zoopla can also give good information on house prices in that area and market trends. I wish you the best of luck!
Thanks, some really useful advice for me in your post. I've not got any experience of buying houses so this helps a lot.0 -
I totally agree but it could just be that these people are not aware of all the legal ways (or perhaps they are just a bit thick).
Mind you until I found this forum I would happily pay normal supermarket prices without saving much.
It is definitely a lack of knowledge type thing.
A friend of mine years ago was a single mum. She was amazed how little I spent on shopping each week for 5 of us and that was pre MSE. She used to spend more than me on 3 and 2 were little ones.
I offered to take her shopping one day and look for normal bargains with her. She would buy tiny tins of baked beans for the kids, which obviously cheaper if she had bought pack of 4 large ones and kept in fridge leftover for couple days, she did not realise you could do this.
She also would buy 4 pack of toilet rolll every week, pick up 1 pizza even though maybe on bogof, or even when I checked one of her receipts at later date she had bought 2 pizzas thinking they were bogof but at the time were B1G2F so had been charged an extortion and not realised.
I don't think I managed to change her shopping habits as she just had the set ways of going every weeks for more or less the same things not understanding the concept of if she bought offer this week she would not need to buy it next week.
I think those sort of things should be taught at school instead of if 50 cars were lined up nose to nose and 3 measure xxx how long would 1 be.0 -
MSL app has updated this morning - now shows when cashback offers are running from/to. They do seem to listen to user feedback ... So please pay our outstanding transactions!

Yes I think so . Mine was fully charged before the 3 hours so had a little go on it
Emerald, how can I tell when it's fully charged?
I know when I plugged it in it seemed to be 3/4 charged already because the battery icon wasn't empty.

Does the scale not weigh everything to ensure people are buying the correct items that they scan ?
For example, how could the weight of a whole chicken only come to 9p worth of banana's ?
Those math don't add up.

You can just do a balance enquiry.0 -
Just checked in As - Cleaning Event signs have a code showing DU07/10/13 so assume displays will end around then.
3 for £5 labels still out so offer still on at least for today (in this store ... For anyone shopping now!).

Morning everyone
A "try me free" offer on salmon:
Harbour salmon, go through coinks website.
Hi and thanks for the tip. I logged on and note that the refund is paid directly into your bank account. Is that normal practice and safe?
Many years ago I got try me free stuff but it was always a cheque.
Thanks0
