I thought the supermarkets gave us enough ways to legally remove products from the stores at silly prices without having to resort to anything illegal!
Does the scale not weigh everything to ensure people are buying the correct items that they scan ?
For example, how could the weight of a whole chicken only come to 9p worth of banana's ?
Those math don't add up.Back to square one, no apg, no comment.0 -

Those math don't add up.
The weighing scales only see (for example) 2kgs worth of weight (a 2kg chicken) and the bagging scales only see 2kgs worth of weight.
Neither actually sees a product, just a number.
I have no idea what 2kgs worth of bananas costs but it's probably less than 2kgs worth of chicken.
A staff member in my local told me people were being caught doing this a few years ago (I think when the SS first came in).
Like someone said, why do it? You can legally take things out the shop at silly prices anyway if you work at itHistoric Debt August 2009 = £63,600 10th March 2017 = £0 100% paid all gone!
Mortgage started June 2015 = £170,000 January 2022 = £134,000
Saving for Xmas 2022= . . Amazon £55

Good Morning All,
I'm looking for a little bit of advice on buying a house as I've not got much experience of this.
I'm going to put an offer in for a house that has just been put up for sale, signs are up but not on the internet or in local papers yet. We were the first ones to view it at the weekend.
Asking price is 200k which I think is reasonable but I'm looking to get the best price possible. What do you think I should offer? Is it being cheeky putting a low offer in of 160k or have I got nothing to lose as it's a buyer's market.
Thanks,

morning everyone..
Just wanted to let you know (for anyone with puppies) AvS
the butchers puppy food (tins) are £3.48v£2.64 plus on quidco £2CB

Not inherited, the current owners are looking to move to a different area but I don't know how desperate they are. Is 20% off the asking price about right for a house just on the market.
It's a large 4 bed detach and similar houses are up for more than 200k in the same location but are not selling as they've been for sale for a while.
It does need work doing on it but nothing major, we can live in it and do it up gradually over time.
Haven't read back on this one but what is your buying position?
Have you sold yours - signed etc
Have you your mortgage sorted for new property?

I was told about it by an SA a year or two ago. Someone in my local at the time was buying joints of beef as loose carrots.
Also, if a whoopsie label had been put on a removable outer sleeve some people were swapping the sleeve for a pack that was still good for days/a week. It meant some poor sould woul have been left paying full price for sometihng that was days past its best
I am shocked at what lengths people will go to. It is very sad that they most probably do not have enough income.
I was having a think about current economic situation as I was driving back from taking DD3 to college this morning, so many empty shops on a main shopping parade and most of those that were occupied were by charity shops or takeaways.
What was once a thriving area is now struggling. And that is not in a deprived area either or one of the upmarket areas of Poole. It just used to be a busy shopping area where you could find almost anything.0 -
Oh I want one now! *goes to check how many vouchers I have for T's*
I've only had a brief go on one in store so far but some of the first day reviews I've read have been pretty good

Thanks, you're not butting in, all advice is welcome. It's a big decision for our family to make and a lot of money involved so I need to get it right. Anyone else got an opinion?
Post on the housing board for advice from people who hang out there.
What area is it in? Some parts, like London, get offers near asking price very quickly, other parts take much longer to get offers at all.
I would say that people would need to be desperate sellers to accept a low offer so quickly.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
