The only win I need is the one over my sister - and so far it seems pretty likely, did a couple of training swims this week, did a 1.5km (60 lengths) swim in 50 minutes the other evening, and did a 35 min swim Friday night, if I counted right I did 42 lengths in that one. But I now have very sore arms and thighs - clearly using different muscles to the running!

Hope you got the travel planning done without too much frustration.

    Good evening everybody.

So... have you decided to swim more now that you have realised that the muscles are different or do you think that you can still do the running with just the swimming inbetween. (I am not the most knowledegable when it comes to fitness).
    :undecided

Holiday was selected and bought using my credit card. Left my auntie's with £970 (their share).
Wandered down to the village the following day and the bank there (who are linked to my credit card) allowed me to put the money straight in.
    :D

So... my dad has come up with a new plan. This is a bit confusing so bear with me. My credit card demands the money gets paid by the 3rd of the month which I can't do as I don't get paid until the 31st sometimes. So my dad pays money towards my credit card then takes the money back once I get paid (told you it was confusing).
My dad has decided that the £600 he has already paid will be my mum's holiday donation and that now he knows we can pay money off at the local bank, once I have my wages, we will go down and pay in another £600.
    :j

I am so excited, it's unbelievable how much I have changed from a year ago, even just 5 months ago.
    :o

I was in the shops the other day with my mum and we were buying icecream to take to my auntie's house and the one we used to buy costs £5!!! I can't believe I used to buy ice cream that cost a fiver. No wonder I would run out of money by the 15th of the month.

Hope everyone is doing well. Not much going on here apart from cleaning.
    Hugs.

Yay for realising how far you've come.

I think I'll still alternate, I've got the run in March too so can't avoid it completely, and if nothing else a day off swimming will give my arms chance to recover - I'm realising now why as a 'fat kid' I always had surprisingly toned arms!

    Good afternoon.

Sorry for the abandoning of the thread but nightshifts have meant I have slept all day and had 2 more spend-free days.
    :D

I am doing a rubbish job of keeping the future a secret. So far have told pretty much my side of the family, OH's mum and dad and the music forum, campervan forum, as well as everyone here.
    :o

I really want April to be here so I can tell the world.
    :D

Good plan scuby... the idea of alternating will allow you to get in lots of practice and preperation. I have no real knowledge on exercisey stuff so that is the best of my opinion.
    :embarasse

The only thing I have done that is money-related is: today we bought two bottles of dried pancake mix (£1 each)... they only need to add water.
The reason for buying them is because I always buy crepes with nutella at the festival we go to... and they are £5 a time!! I must have spent about £40 on them last year. So it is to try and save money. If they make it to the festival that is.
    :p

    Hope everyone is doing well.
    Hugs.

So we are almost at the end of the month and the new challenge has gone up... oh dear.
    :(

    * SFD: going to go for 20 as budget is very small (for us).

    * I can't really do the figure out how much you are paying towards debt first as I have no control over that part of the account.

    * I am tempted to do envelopes this month as I like the idea of getting cash handed back to me which we can add to the savings pots.
    :o

    * Food Budget: £109.00!!!!

Erm... we will cheat a bit in this as we have ready meals in the freezer to use up and I also have ready made food for me (like chicken nuggets and things. They never taste right when I make my own).

    * Declutter the kitchen: Consider it done. We need to update our freezer foods list so will go through everything again.

    * No take-aways: okay.... I guess.

    * Summer holiday preperation: Already in progress. Got no option as we have a big holiday plus our annual festival to get ready for.
    :j

    * Food Bank: £3 toiletries.

    * De-clutter the house: Don't know if we will find 30 items in our house... but I will do my best.

    * Do a favour for a friend: Can I not include all the stuff I did in the past week??
    ;)

    * Lunch to Work: Easy peasy. Consider it done.
    :)

So there we have it... the latest challenge thank to NSK and it's going to be a toughie. Mainly due to the budget.
My worry about envelopes is that we go nuts as we have the money then have nothing for the rest of the month.
    :(

Into the savings pots this month will go:
Holiday Pot: £85.00 (from each of us).
Secret Stash: £31.00 (from each of us).
    :D

Plan this month is to use morries special offers: Just went and bought OH vine tomatoes, oranges and blueberries... all 3 for £2. He normally spends £2 just on the blueberries.
We will defeat this debt one blueberry at a time.
    ;)

Hope everyone is doing well... sorry about the huge long post.
    Hugs.

    Hey

Sorry for the lack of recent posts. I am up to my eye balls in work again but have 3pm tomorrow afternoon in my sights ;)

I think the March challenge seems good, apart from the food budget, which for us will now be £160, which is really low as I usually run over when I have a budget of £180 or £200.

I'm sure you can declutter 30 items, even if they are small items? I have been decluttering like mad this month and still feel like we have too much "stuff".

Hope you have a lovely evening, off to bed now :)

Aw fmess.... Don't tire yourself out too much. You need to still be able to enjoy life and not just work it.
    Hugs.

Not really much to report. Going out for supper (not paying) as it is my nephew's birthday.
    :)

Even better news is that I started the 5/2 diet yesterday and managed to do a "starve" day yesterday. One tin of heinz chicken soup and a bread roll with ham.
Today is a "five" day as we are going out.
    ;)

Decided that I will vary my "starve" days as I will never manage to not eat whilst at work. I would probably pass out or make myself unwell.
    :embarasse

Wedding venue is provisionally booked. They are being really lovely and because I am booking so far in advance... they are giving me the hall at 2014 prices. So I am missing out on 4 years of price increases.
    :j

That's got to be a little MSE right?? It's not exactly a frugal wedding but little bits help.
    :undecided

Wedding dress was planned when I was younger. Getting it made but then it should only be a couple of hundred pounds as it is very simple. Imagine plain white (vest style top half, square neck) and the only fancy stuff is a tartan ribbon going down the back like a corset does. (tartan will be my family tartan).
    :o

Now I am spending my time planning our honeymoon as it is more interesting.
    :rotfl:

Erm... nothing else really to say. Hope everyone is doing well.

So... march has begun and the money is into an envelope.

Food budget is: £110 (too awkward to have £109).
    :o

Another £85 added to the holiday pot. (OH still needs to add his in). This puts us up to £529!!!!!
    :j

Also £31 added to the xmas fund (secret stash pot) which puts it up to £129!!!!
    :j

I have also repaid my parents back some money (£50) and have repaid the xmas fund pot the £20 I had borrowed at the end of February. So we are even stevens at the moment.
    :D

Diet is going well. I have had two starve days this week and am reducing the amount of sugar I am eating. Weighed myself last night and haven't really lost anything but am hoping it's because it was later on in the afternoon and I had been on nightshift. Fingers crossed.
    :(

    Hope everyone is doing well.
    Hugs.

Glad the diet is going so well and well done on saving so much money in your various pots. I am not sure how people complete the starve days as they sound horrendous, how are you coping?

Not much new to report here. Just continuing with work etc. I don't have anything new to say at all actually :(

Don't worry fmess, just chat to me about random stuff, it doesn't have to be anything serious or money-related. Hope you are still looking after yourself and not letting work overtake everything.
I just love a natter.... are you going on holiday this year??
    :)

The starve days are okay for me so far. I have been quite naughty to be honest. My parents only have breakfast and then supper where as I split my tin/portion of soup into two and have some at about lunch time and some at supper time. Makes the starve days a bit more bearable.
    :o

Today I got two "new" soups to try... one is carrot and corriander and the other is yellow pea and ham. My hope is to try them and see if I like them and then if I do, find a recipe for them to make myself.
    :D

    Hugs to everyone.
