Wow... you have all been busy this morning!!
Good afternoon. OH comes home today so I have been pretending to be a domestic goddess and tidied away our xmas pressies. (well, I have left some out for him, but I doubt he would be thrilled by denby baking trays somehow).
Scubaangel!! I am so glad you decided to join in with the January challenge. I think it is brilliant. The challenges have really helped me to stay focussed.
Oooooooooooh... heartbreak_star... if you joined too then we would have a support group for the support group for the challenge.
:rotfl:
I do love my chocolate clippy_girl but I should be able to control it whilst dieting. I did SW a couple of years ago and lost two stone (put it all back on now though) and that was restricting myself to one fudge bar a day. I should go and check how many calories a fudge bar is now that I mention it.
No-one should act their age all the time fmess!! If we did then we wouldn't get to have so much fun cause we would spend too long thinking about the consequences and reasons and all that stuff. I tend to view acting my age as being quite a negative thing and removing my wee rose-tinted spectacles. So... instead of looking foward to getting married, I would be thinking it was pointless as the divorce rate is so high or trying to reduce my debts is pointless as I will just end up getting more in the future. That sort of stuff.. so I think we should all just remain young at heart.
Hope you have all had a great day.

Evening everyone.
Today was a bit of a nothing day... worked nightshift, slept almost all day and then working again tonight.
:undecided
In good news!! the witch was on last night and was nice to me!!
:j
I have reached spend-free day 14 of 15 so if I don't spend anything on the 31st then I will have achieved 15 spend-free days!!
Loving having my OH back. I have missed him more than I realised.
Oh!! And work had missed off an extra shift I had done so I have informed them of it. Between that and the other extra shifts I have done... I can get my ipad in January!!
:j
Hope everyone is doing well and if I don't see you before, have a fantastic new year. Here's to 2014!!

Without sounding mean, I am glad you have a lot of lbs to lose. I was feeling a bit embarassed when other people were saying about losing a stone or a few lbs and here I am with 72lbs as my aim. It made me feel a bit of a slob. That sounds awful, please don't take offence.
:embarasse
I might ask my OH to sponsor me seeing as he would like me to be healthier.
Hope you and your family feel better soon habibiboo and very good luck for 2014. I hope it is kind to you and you achieve your goals.
Hugs.
Thanks Stewbie ... No worries & no offence taken ... I've reached an age where my body's decided it's going to be a certain shape however much / little I eat! At least 20lb I need to lose is from lady bump areas, so glad to have someone else who understand that the whole "I need to shed a few pounds thing" does actually involve pounds in double figures!
Any luck with getting Oh to sponsor you?. So glad to hear that the evil one was nice to you last night ... You never know, perhaps her New Years resolution is to be better behaved towards you?
Anyhow, have a good New Years & onwards and upwards with getting those unruly finances in order in 2014 (hugs)Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Evening everybody.
I am a very very lucky girl habibiboo. OH has agreed to sponsor me £1 for a lb... the plan is it will go in the holiday pot. (along with the weekly challenge money). I am very happy about this.
:j
He is talking about our holidays although it will be a more scaled back thing this year. (Main aim is to get rid of the credit card debt).
I have a question... I was speaking to my dad and said that my plan was to cut up the card once it is paid off but he has said not to. Dad has said to keep the card, use it for "big purchases" but make sure that I have the money to clear it at the end of each month. This gives me some protection if something doesn't happen or work like its supposed to.
Is that what other people do??
:undecided
In other news... one of my old work friends has just gotten a new job. I am absolutely thrilled about it as she is a fantastic nurse and deserved better.
:j
We were short-staffed last night... one of my biggest challenges since I moved. Me and an auxillary working his second ever night shift. He is training to be a doctor and seems like a nice enough lad though. I spent my night telling him stories and advising him to always listen to what nurses say (within reason) as we see the patient for 12 hours, he sees them for 5 minutes. A lot of doctors play the "I am the doctor" card and ignore the nurses. Although the ones out in my new work seem a lot better. Probably cause the nurses know their stuff out here (as in been qualified and working here for about twenty years).
So... the junior charge nurse (second in command) has mentioned to me a few times that she is going to be retiring next year. I have always been very against going any higher in nursing as I got into this job to do more for people (will explain later). However, her role is to work out the off-duty, sort out the holidays, and stuff... but she spends a lot of time on the floor looking after people. I think it would allow me to go higher but at the same time, let me stick to what I do best (look after people). Will see how I feel nearer the time but am tempted to maybe go for it. I wonder if they would let me do a three month trial or something to see if I liked it.
:undecided
The explain later bit: Basically, I started working as a care assistant in a nursing home at 17 (maybe 18, I forget) and when people became unwell (as in dying), I felt we kinda shut the door on them and left them. (NOTE: we didn't do that at all, it was just my perception of it as I had no clue). As a result, I went into nursing as I wanted to do more for the people I cared for. Pointless story but thought I should explain the weird choice of words.
Only 5 more hours until 2014 begins and then the hard work truely starts... By this time next year, I plan on being the very proud owner of a debt-free lifestyle, a holiday to somewhere lovely (courtesy of the weekly challenge), an inflated sense of achievement...
... and a bloody engagement ring.
:rotfl:
Have a wonderful hogmanay and I hope you all have a brilliant start to the new year. (Hope everything is still okay with you and your family scubaangel. Thinking of you).

Evening,
I keep my ccards for that reason. You get an extra kind of insurance for items over £100 bought on ccard. I use it for booking flights or buying electrical goods.
I think you should definitely go for the job, especially if there is a nice balance of caring and admin.
Hope you have a lovely New Year celebration with your family.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Good afternoon and a happy new year to everyone.
We had a brilliant night/morning, getting home at about 06:30ish. Spent about £13 and that's just cause the bottle of whisky we took got demolished.
So... today is the first day of 2014 and our first day of saving together. I would be excited if I wasn't so sleepy.
Not really much to say apart from hope everyone had a good night and has a good day. I think I am away back to snooze whilst the footie is on.
