hey stewby
How are you feeling? Sorry to hear you are struggling at work.
I am sure they are not having a go at work. I think at this time of year people are often really tired and I find people at work are getting a bit grumpy and snappy (me included).
Just keep looking forward to your holiday and having a few days off with your family. It'll be amazingLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Fmess - just realised shes gone now too, that means we can throw a party on here doesnt it? :beer:It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Hello all. Where was my invite to the party?? Must have gotten lost in the post.
Holiday was good but stressful. Very stressful. My auntie picked fault with everything... and I mean everything. Most of which I had a reply to and a reason behind (which shut her up).
Spent the friday in tears as we had breakfast, got to the airport and had no money for lunch. (flight wasn't until 15:30 french time and we ate at 09:40 french time).
I had two euros left, my cousin had nothing, my mum had packed her purse in her suitcase (yep, the one that gets checked in). My auntie, however, still had over 1000 euros left (she was going to buy cigarettes but they weren't that much cheaper so she didn't).
She refused to lend anyone money so we all became hungry and grumpy and bleurgh.
My mum eventually crumbled and told her how stupid and selfish she was being and that we would pay her back for the food. So we all got a sandwich and a drink of juice. My auntie with her sulkyface on. Ruined the end of the holiday and that is the memory my mum and I have been left with.
So... I am now in two minds about future holidays. Personally, I do not want to go on any more holidays with my auntie, however, I don't want to let my mum and cousin down. Feeling a bit rotten about it to be honest.
However, in better news. I stuck to my budget and as a result have reached 24 spend-free days. We should go shopping today, however if I do then we don't reach 25 spend-free days... so no shopping until tomorrow.
In EVEN better news... OH has a job!!!!!!
:j
I know I shouldn't just be focussing on the money and stuff but I spoke to OH and he will be contributing £100 a month to the housekeeping fund. He wanted to give more but I want him to save his money in case he ends up out of work again. (OH has a 90k bond which he is paying back at over £500 a month and we can't risk defaulting on).
So the plan is for him to save as much as he can although he will be using his money for flights and flying and medicals and stuff.
So that gives me an extra £100 to put towards my debt. Which means I can pay off £200 a month roughly. Hopefully.
:undecided
Anyways... hope everything is okay with you both. Sounds like the tutoring is going well fmess and hopefully your family are managing okay with having your nan home. (hope I haven't missed that she has passed on whilst I have been away. If she has, I'm sorry for this bit and of course I am sorry for your loss).Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

Sounds like Auntie was being incredibly selfish, don't blame you for being unsure about future trips with her. Hopefully with time you and your Mum will be able to forget some of the stuff she did to bug you and remember the good bits of the trip.
So chuffed for you that the OH has found a job, must take alot of the financial pressure off knowing the household has two incomes again with his repayments for the flight training. I guess this is IT work rather than flying.
Nana is still going strong, she's talking about getting a physio in so she can get back up and walking :eek:It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

I am thrilled to hear your nan is doing okay. She definitely sounds like a fighter and very determined. (I love people like that).
Yeah, it is IT work but it is a job. I get the feeling he was maybe going a bit nuts with not working.

How are things going with you?? Any update on the mystery man??Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

I think we wish she wasn't so determined at the moment, we had been hoping we could get back to sleeping at night when she was sleeping but lately shes been trying to get out of bed in the middle of the night because she forgets she can't, couple of times I've had to go get my step Dad when shes tried to get up as I can't lift her back on to her bed on my own.
Yeah not working gets like that - I'm feeling very distinct cabin fever from not going out to work.
No updates, headed down south again next weekend so will see the mutual friend on Saturday while am out drinking with the guys. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

HELLO!!!
Sorry to hear about your aunt's selfish behaviour, its a shame she ruined the end of your holiday. Like scubaangel says maybe time will help you forget her silly behaviour.
YAY for OH having a job and giving you £100 towards household billsThat must be such a relief for both of you.
Glad your nan is doing better scubaangel.
Tutoring is going well, I'm really enjoying it so I'm hoping it'll continue until the exams (which are still 7 months away)I wish I had more time to take on more tutees but school work usually takes up most of my evenings and some of the weekend so I wouldn't get much of a rest
Think December isn't going to be particularly good for debt busting as have several social events and have already spent a lot of my budget on Christmas gifts etc. Hoping to be able to reign in the spending now though as I shouldn't have to go to town shopping againLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Well... back to reality.
My wages are rubbish... £1515 this month which is basically breaking even... well, not even breaking even actually. I would be breaking even if I didn't have a credit card to pay off.
So... basically, my parents have had to bail me out again to the tune of £200 for my credit card.
This means that I now owe my parents £700.
I went to my bank and found that I had £50 leftover from last month (petrol that I didn't buy) so I gave my parents £150 from my budget account to try and pay some of it back. Just to find that I have a garage bill to pay (that I had forgotten about) so the £150 has now been used to pay that.
I am feeling so rubbish right now as it only seems to be since I became more financially aware that I have been messing up so much.
My dad is saying that it is just a coincidence because I moved jobs and stuff but it is hitting me really hard.
Oh... credit card debt is: £3834.44
Bank of mum + dad is: £700.00
So it's going up instead of down. Stupid debt throwing me curveballs.
Anyways... I don't know why I am moaning so much. Many people have it a lot worse than me. And I know this. I think I am just feeling a bit sorry for myself and struggling to understand why I should change my habits for nothing.
eurgh, my attitude sucks today.Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

Hey breathe, you are doing amazingly well and have a good grip of the situation, its that time of the year that things are always a little tighter I know my finances are. & think about all the positives! Your other half has got a job which will give some extra from next month. This is a marathon not a sprint- Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted
