Sorry to make you realise that about the hoodie. It is a lovely one as well but it just made me shudder.
Maybe it could be an investment buy for next year. You could give it to yourself as a xmas pressie??
    ;)

Urgent marking can wait a few hours surely?? Focus on having a lovely time with your family. You deserve it.
    :)

Hopefully, they will help you feel better and you can go back to work on Monday feeling fresh-eyed and bushy-tailed (I don't think that's the right saying somehow). Nothing like a bit of positivity to make you feel better.
Perhaps, you should focus on a goal?? When I had my "issues" at work last year, the only thing that got me through (even after I had reduced my hours) was having a countdown... even to little things. Once a month, I take my mum over to her sisters and we go out for lunch so I would count the number of days, hours, minutes to that... but I did it for pretty much everything just to get me through the work.

I did have fishies but they died last summer (they were quite old for fish I think, about three years). When OH moved to New Zealand for part of his training, I basically moved in with my parents so they could look after me as I was no longer looking after myself.
Anyways, I would love to have a dog (a labrador or a cockador which is a cocker spaniel/lab cross) but my Dad thinks it would be unfair to leave a dog for 12 hours a day whilst I am working. My parents already have a dog so they couldn't look after it.
I could walk their dog but it's not quite the same as having your own one although she is very lovely.
    :o

Glad the quacks didn't make you think I was crazy. I was in two minds about posting them.
    :p

I think lunch with your folks sounds like a wonderful chance to relax. Is there anyone there you could use as a soundboard to get your worries off your chest so to speak??
    :undecided

Keep your chin up... only 25 more working days until you are on holiday (assuming you finish on 22nd like google says).
    Hugs.

    Morning :)

I'm going to sit down and attempt my marking in a minute so it's out of the way before Sunday dinner and then I don't have to do it this evening. I hate having work to do at home but I guess it's the trade off for the long holidays.

We have 23 teaching days left and a half day of training, I can't wait for the holidays :) A week on Friday we an inset day and it's the only one of the year where staff and kids get to stay at home :) Was thinking that could be my first goal, although next weekend I'm accompanying my newly engaged best friend to try on wedding dresses so guess that's a better first goal.

We have that problem with our dogs. My OH used to work from home so it wasn't a problem but since he changed jobs last year, we have had to employ a dog sitter :( it costs a fortune but at least the dogs are happy and get to see someone in the middle of the day. The other great thing about my hols is that it means we don't have to pay the dog sitter, so we can save some money :)

I'll have a chat to my mum later about my stresses but there will be quite a lot of us there so it'll be quite busy. I'm sure I'll be ok in a few weeks.

What kind of training did your OH go all the way to New Zealand for? Sounds exciting. Has he had any luck finding a job? (I'm assuming OH is a he but please correct me if I'm wrong)

Hope you have a good day at work, do you get days off in the week instead?

    Hey fmess.

I hope you had a brilliant day and are feeling much more relaxed now.
    :)

The wedding dresses sounds good fun. If it is something that you will really enjoy then count down to it. It really worked for me and kept me going for just under a year. (until I moved jobs).
    :o

I would love a dog but I don't know if we can afford it, even if we didn't need a dogsitter. I would love one though. Maybe once the OH gets a proper job then I can reduce my shifts and we can see about getting a doggy.
    :D

Yeah, OH is a he... for now. If he misbehaves, he might not remain that way.
    :p

OH trained to be an airline pilot. This is why it is my debt we are sorting out (well, I am sorting out) because, well, basically my mortgage + debt + loan = his training fees.
We are realy struggling to get him a job flying, even though he trained with a really good school (meant to be one of the best). There just doesn't appear to be any jobs out there.
    :(

However, he has an interview with an agency (he trained in IT before flying) so he might be able to get a temporary job. I am not holding out much hope though. (It's not him, it's because he would have to give short notice if a flying job came up and because he is only after a temp job).
    :undecided

Bah, I have worked the weekend but I only work three days a week so I get a whole four days off every week so no feeling sorry for me now.
    ;)

I do hope you are feeling a bit brighter. Just remember to focus on your happy thought and count down to it. I hope it works for you as well.
    Hugs.

Four days off a week! That's amazing! What a great idea!

Has OH had his interview? Sorry I've been MIA, work seems crazy and trying to prepare for my first tutoring job this week too :)

My OH is poorly so has been home all week, so far. He is not a very good patient but it does save on petrol and dog sitter fees!

I'm feeling a bit brighter, thank you, but still had a spontaneous cry this evening, so not quite on full form. I'm really looking forward to wedding dress shopping this Saturday with my friend so I'm counting down! (Thanks for the tip!)

    Hole you are ok? Night

Yep. Four whole days off. It's a pretty good deal I think. Means I can work an extra shift now and again without burning myself out.
    :)

Aw, I am sorry to hear that your OH is not feeling so great. I have heard there is a "bug" going around (whether it can travel the length of the UK I don't know).
    ;)

It's okay to cry. Don't feel embarassed about it. I would be more concerned if you had completely shut down and lost all emotion. I feel crying is your brain's way of reminding you that you are human.

I expect to hear all the wedding dress search. I am glad to hear you are counting down. I hope it works as well for you as it does for me.
    :)

We have 125 and a half hours until we leave for disneyland paris. (when I say we, I mean my mum, auntie, cousin and me. We have an annual xmas holiday together).

Today is an amazingly positive day!!

It is a spend-free day so that is always a good thing.

I have realised that if I have no more spending days then I can still achieve the 25 spend-free days!!

And... most importantly... my OH has had TWO!! thats right TWO job offers today (both IT, neither flying) however, it is work and it pays well.
    :j

I am so thrilled about this as I was beginning to worry about him as he seemed a bit deflated.
    :(

He has an interview on Friday and another one on Monday. So he could be starting work as early as next week.

    In diet-related news...

I have discovered passata!! It can take the place of dolmio tomato sauce and it is synfree. (dolmio = 8 syns). Also, I watered down my white sauce and as a result could make 6 lasagnes instead of 4.

This means that each lasagne is worth just FOUR syns!!
    :j

Have spoken with OH and he is going to give me £100 a month towards the house.
    :D

He is considering giving me an extra £50 to put in the holiday pot. Fingers crossed.

Congratulations to your OH :) That's brilliant news!

Well done on the diet too. I am still trying each day but usually failing. I blame work as I am just ridiculously busy (just having a break from work to message you and check NOvember thread).

Very jealous of your holiday count down, I'm excited for you!

Sorry for trhe delay in replying... I fell asleep last night pretty much as soon as I got in the door.
    :o

Sorry to hear you and your hubby have had a disagreement. I hope it all gets resolved soon.
    Hugs.

The interview for OH was a pre-interview interview so no job yet. This world is very confusing sometimes.
    :undecided

I am beginning to struggle at work again. I am hoping it is just a phase because I am near to holidays but I am starting to think people are "having a go". They aren't (I don't think) but when somebody makes a joke about my ability, part of my brain starts thinking that they are being serious and it is one of those jokes with a dig. If you know what I mean??
I used to be so confident and sure of what I was doing. I can't believe that one "minor" event could destroy my career so much. (just to clarify, it wasn't anything I did wrong. It was just wrong place, wrong time)
    :(

Not long to go until disneyland... less than 53 hours. I need to unwind a bit. And I can't think of a better way than by hunting down disney characters for autographs and pictures.
