Aw fmess... you need to make sure you can get your pennies back. Especially if it allows you to get back on budget. I am sure if you asked him nicely then he would give you it??
    :undecided

I have come home from work (walked home) and baked my biscuits again. Overcooked them a bit this time I think. They aren't burnt but they are a bit too crumbly.
    :(

However, they are still yummy and instead of 16, I managed to get 32 which means more to eat and less chance of nipping to the shops.
    :j

I need to read a few things that I have taken home from work but I am wasting time and trying to put it off.
    :o

Have a nice sleep (for those away to sleep).

Unfortunately not :( OH has spent all of his pennies until payday! Oh well! Will try and teach him some MSE tips.

Your biscuits sound lovely :) I need to get baking again this weekend.

So happy it's Friday tomorrow, I just want to hibernate for the whole weekend :)

Hey fmess... I'm sorry to hear your hubby is not playing ball.
    :(

Perhaps, you can discuss "drip-feeding" his money to him throughout the month?? That way he will be less likely to run out??
    :undecided

They were talking about being short-staffed tomorrow so I am now doing an extra shift. My second this month so I have more than made my £100.
    :D

Another spend free day today and I also took my lunch to work. Excellent news in that respect.
    :)

How is everyone else doing today??

    Hey :)

Yay for another extra shift! That's great news and will see you earning even more money to pay off your debt :)

I love the OA challenge, it seems to be keeping us both really focused and I love having SFDs now :). Aiming for 2 more this weekend, how about you?

I aimed to do some baking but forgot gluten free flour and don't want to use a SFD just to get some! Will try wait until next week.

OH did suggest that I take control of his finances next month :) We have tried this before and it usually ends in disaster, and endless complaints from him that I won't give him money, when I try to kerb his overspending. But I'm hoping he's starting to realise how big my debt is and that I need to pay it off asap.

Planning another quiet weekend, to avoid spending, Will try look for more items to eB4y but I don't think we have much left that is unused and worth selling. I did get £23.57 from trading in some books to Am4zon today :)

    Hope you are all ok

Worked the morning but it was a bit quiet so other nurse asked if I wanted to go home as there were heaps of staff on and I was only there to help out. Thinking I could do something nice with OH, I said yes and left... only to be stuck watching soccer saturday.

Decided we should go shopping so off to tescimos. There were lots of yellow labels but they weren't a decent reduced (if you know what I mean) so we didn't buy anything from there.

OH started looking at dvds whilst we were there so I gently reminded him that we only had £30 for the next two weeks... so he offered to buy it and the rest of the shopping!!

So we are going to watch fast and furious 6 later tonight (after all the football) whilst having supper. Shopping was £25.60 total but that was including £10 for the dvd and 2kg of rice. So it wasn't too horrendous. However, OH paid as I said so it doesn't affect our budget. (Good job too as £30 for two weeks is almost impossible).
    :o

Oh... the plan is to make lasagne tomorrow but we already have all the stuff for it. I love las-ag-nee.
    :D

Fmess, is there no way to give him a set amount each week and have a reserve?? Like if he gets £200 then he gets £40 each week with £40 spare should he overspend??
    :undecided

Hopefully you can get it sorted.
    Hugs.

Batch-cooked lasagnes. Bought some small metal disposable dishes which can be used in the oven (like the takeaway dishes) and it means that I could get five portions of lasagne instead of four!!
    :D

I am giving two lots to my mum, keeping two lots for me (freeze) and erm... one lot has mysteriously disappeared already.
    :p

In exchange for giving mum some lasagne and macaroni cheese, she is offering to buy us ingredients which is brilliant as mince (decent mince) is quite expensive. Also, it means we can keep getting our dolmio sauces.
    :o

OH's sister has just come back from Paris and I am feeling very jealous whilst looking at her pictures. I loved our trip to Paris and really want to go again (as in right now). Why can't everyone else be broke at the same time as me.

Yummy! Lasagne is one of my favourites! Thank goodness for mum's. Mine has supplied me with gluten free bread and cakes this weekend, saving me a fortune :)

Maybe a trip to Paris could be your debt free treat? Instead of the carpet?

Not really feeling very chatty this evening. Think I am heading to bed... last shift tomorrow.

I am being incredibly lucky as I am getting rewarded for favours. Dad wants to have a big family meal out on Friday (so free meal out) then I am driving my dad into the city on Saturday and in exchange for dropping him off and picking him up (he doesn't go out much and parking in the city is a nightmare and my dad does so much for me, I quite enjoy doing things for him). Because of this, my mum has decided we should have pizza so I have to pick up dominos on the way home (her treat!!).
    :D

I did spend money the other day but due to my pathetic ability to remember my finances, I used a ten pound note in my wallet. (not really sure how it got there). I still have a mysterious £20 note as well. (again no clue how it got there).

plan for november: take money out of the bank and do it that way so I can keep track better. (I have kept the receipts but it doesn't help with the money).

Can you send the money fairy to me please - I wouldn't mind finding some extra notes in my purse. :D

sadly, I don't think they are extra. I think I have just taken it out of my bank at some point and forgotten.
    :(

Which would explain why my bank was only at £37 last time I checked it.
    :embarasse

Was reading about your job thing. How annoying that they were busy today. Hopefully you will be able to speak to someone tomorrow. At least you are showing that you are interested and keen.
    :)
