Aw fmess, big hugs to you. I hope you feel better tomorrow.
    :(

I had a bit of a grumpy day as well. Now figuring out how to eliminate debts whilst saving for the future as I got a bit of a shock today. Definitely need to refocus and plan my future better.
    :undecided

Guess it has just been a rotten day all round. Fingers crossed that scubaangel has had a better day.

Don't worry fmess, we will work on this together and succeed together. There is light at the end of the tunnel and so what if we are travelling on a snail rather than on a cheetah... we will still get there.

Sorry to say no good news here either.

Woke up with razor blades in my throat so spent another day in my onesie doing not very much taking lemsips. Am hoping that the cold will turn in to a full cold tomorrow so I can start getting over it and visit my Nana who's back in hospital.

Hope the shock you got today is nothing too serious Stewby.

On the upside sounds like SFD's all round :A

Fmess, well done on losing 5Lb. I am about to start a highly accredited weight management program (Essex University compared it to WW & SW & it beat them hands down) & have started a thread about it.

Stewby, I have great sympathy for anyone working in the nursing profession. No matter how well you do your job, someone will find something to whinge about.

Aw scubaangel. Sounds like a miserable time. Hugs to you as well. I hope you feel better very very soon and get to go see your nana.
    :(

The thing that happened today has just made me analyse my position in life (or where I viewed myself in life). It just came as a bit of a shock as I believed I was in a more serious place than I obviously am. (none of that makes sense but I don't really want to go into any more detail on a public forum). So today has been a bit teary. Not to worry, will feel better tomorrow I imagine as I tend to forget things very quickly.

Anyways, enough of this pity party people!! We need to be positive and happy and work our way through this debt thing together!! With or without our OHs help. Although I am quite jealous that fmess got a chocolate gift.
    :p

edit: The joke of it that I am not even at work today patman. Just me "interfering" I suppose.

Thanks Fmess, I know its only a cold but they feel the worst for taking an age to creep up on you don't they!

We don't know whats wrong with her, the home care team assessed her on Friday, and said she'd be ok to stay home with carers a couple of times a day to take the pressure off my Mum, but when they came she was feeling ok, when they came to start the visits she was bad again, so they've had her readmitted to some sort of medical investigative ward as other than being a bit weak from not eating properly there was nothing otherwise wrong with her when she left the Cardiac ward. I really want to go see her but don't want to take a cold in to the hospital if I don't need to.

    Hello everyone.

Still feeling quite rough but as the saying goes:

Give me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference.

I really need to accept that I can't change the past and just replan my future.

On the plus side, I made the macaroni cheese today (with my mum's cheese) and have not only managed to make supper for me and her, but have also managed to make three extra portions each to freeze. So very impressed with that.
    :D

This was the macaroni cheese recipe I used:

    http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/4627/tim-s-mac-and-cheese.aspx

I even managed to make a roux. (not pronounced roocks as i first said. my mum has explained that it's french to me).
    :o

I have pretty much no real cooking ability so I am attempting to learn how to cook whilst saving money which is a bit challenging as if you mess it up, then it's also money wasted. Thankfully, it went well.
    :)

Hope everyone else is having a better day than yesterday.
    hugs.

I love that saying! Sorry you're feeling rough but time is the best healer and each day you will feel better :)

I know this is weird but I've never had macaroni cheese! I love cheese and pasta so I think I'll have to try and make it sometime :)

Can you make spag Bol, lasagna or cottage pie? These are my favourite cheap and easy dinners and don't cost much to make and are good for using up vegetables.

Hoping for a SFD today, popping out later but it shouldn't involve spending :)

I do make lasagne (called la-zag-nee in my house) but the problem I have is that I am a very fussy eater so can't pad things out with vegetables. My lasagne is sieved tomato sauce (dolmios was reduced when I was last buying), pasta sheets, mince and white sauce (again, dolmios was reduced but apparently it is easier to make your own so I might try that). Oh... and mozzarella cheese on top. Very simple and with no added extras.
    :o

The macaroni was delicious. Definitely recommend it. My mum is thrilled with her extra portions as well. Just make sure you have lots of baking dishes if you make the one above as I used one medium dish and could have easily filled a second one too (ended up using two small ones). Will definitely make it again some day.
    :)

Got a new dish coming for xmas (from my auntie and uncle) so that will give us two medium dishes for batch cooking. I really like denby cookware and just now they are selling their medium dish for £12.50 which is a great deal and something that both me and my OH can use. It is a good deal as they get a bottle of vodka every year in exchange.
    :p

I love that saying too. It is completely true. I just want the wisdom to know that I can't change what has happened and that I am able to deal with the fact that I can't. It's probably a good thing that it has happened now and not in the future when it could have caused a bigger problem.
    :undecided

Oh what a pity party I am having today. Trying to cheer myself up by planning my future house. It sounds stupid but I enjoy planning what rooms would look like and what I would buy. It's something I have enjoyed doing from an early age (about 12). I put in rooms that I don't have but would like to have in future like cloakrooms or offices. I find it quite entertaining.
    :o

I have just eaten a block of aero mint chocolate so I should be feeling pretty good in about 20 minutes.
    :p

Have a nice evening out fmess.
