Oh I am so not very bright sometimes... and to think I used to love chemistry when I was younger.
    :o

Glad to read of your good news scubaangel.
    :D

Today has been a weird sort of day. I have been very lazy. However, I have made another batch of biscuits (chocolate chip ones and those yummy chocolate ones) which should stop me from buying anything extra during the week.

    Another sfd today as well.

In fairness stewby it is kinda my speciality area - when I was at uni full time I was doing Marine Biology.

Thanks, jsut got to deal with the references hurdle.

Lazy and baking sounds good to me, and well done for the SFD.

I'm so jealous of your lazy day with baking! I really didn't want to go to work today :(

Well done on the SFD, you are doing so well! Can't believe it's your first month!

My parents are both Scots, Dad was in the RAF so we were known as the Scottish Family with the english children! I have never actually lived north of the border but all holiday's were spent up there until I was in my teens and as often as I can since.

I ended up in Hertfordshire because of work and quite like where I am as this country bumpkin can be in open fields and woods within about 10 minutes :) Great for me and my dogs :)

Mum made sure that we loved Scotland as much as she did and we were brought up on good scottish fayre like Haggis, Neeps & Tatties, Stew and dumplings, mince & tatties, proper home made lentil soup, tablet and proper cakes. We always stopped just over the border for mutton pies too :)

Sorry mattymoo. I hadn't seen your reply. If it makes you feel any better, I come from an extremely scottish family and due to the forces I was born in wales. (I get teased a lot by my brother for it all in good fun though).
    :p

I love lentil soup and haggis and mince. They are all delicious and well worth the effort it takes to cook them. If we didn't just have one bag of mince left, I would be very tempted to make mince and tatties but can't do that for two people with only one bag.
    :(

Might send neil up to raid mum and dad's freezer later. (we have slowly started taking over their chest freezer with food and occassionally we "mistakenly" pick up something that isn't ours).

Wow scubaangel. That is an awesome degree to have... can you not use it for something or is there not much available in your area for that skill??
    :/

Aw fmess... what's wrong at work?? Or was it just the thought of getting out of bed??
I have work today but since moving, I am feeling a lot better and a lot less stressed. I still have some nervousness but not to the extent of before, just butterflies in my stomach.
    :)

Oh, and pedometer is back on. (I forgot yesterday which means for two days I did a grand total of 1902 steps).
    :o

Hope everyone has a great day. Not long until Friday now. (unplanned meal, however I don't have to pay as I am the driver. hooray).

I'd love to go back and finish it and then use it, but I only did the first two years of the four year degree, and I just can't afford to go back, looked in to it a couple of years ago before the student finance changes. Hence now doing a Natural Sciences Degree with the Open Uni, then if I've not found a long term job/career I enjoy I might look in to doing some post grad study to go back to the Marine field.

Fmess hope you felt better at work today. x

I think the open uni degree sounds pretty cool as well. Is it possible to restart your marine biology one later on or do you have to start all over again??
    :)

I recently applied for a job in research (medical research, I didn't get it as I was too underqualified) and I was shocked by how much I really enjoyed it. The woman who interviewed me has said she will keep an eye out for some "bank" work so I can gain experience. I am looking forward to doing that.
    :D

Work is going brilliantly. It sounds daft but I keep waiting for the catch. The difference between my last job and this one is amazing and I keep thinking it is going to turn to poop as my luck cannot last. Guess it just shows how broken I was.
    :/

Total steps so far is: 55,042. If only saving money was as easy eh.
    ;)

Feeling quite proud of how well I am doing. I think it is the achiever in me that wants to reach the targets... don't know how I will cope once I have reached 20 sfd. Might end up blowing the budget on a treat.

    Morning :)

Work is ok thank you. Its just really full on some days and feel like I barely have time to breathe in between one day and the next. I'm hoping I might get an hour or two tonight to unwind and not have to do lesson planning or marking.

My SFD total is still only 3 :( going to have to work harder at this!

University is so expensive, it is a shame that it has prevented you from going back to complete your marine biology degree. It does sound like it could lead to a really amazing career!

I'm sure there won't be a catch with your job stewby. Glad you are enjoying to so much. I really want to get a new pedometer and see how many steps I'm doing, I'm guessing it must 12,000-15,000 a day as I never sit down or stand still between 6am and 5pm and also walk the dogs.

Hope you have lovely days :)

    Hiya.

    Hope everyone is well.
    :)

That is week number 2 over with and only one wee disaster so far. (cause their way of doing things was different to the old way. no-one harmed or anything. just paperwork but I would rather have not made a mistake.
    :(

Have spent some money on Wednesday but just cause I worked some extra time and wanted a sandwich and some junk food.
    :D

Friday will be a nightmate as I am going out for lunch. It wasn't planned which means NSK will be unhappy with me... but I enjoy spending time with my family. I just have to try and control my spending when we go shopping afterwards.
    :embarasse

Hope everyone has a lovely day.

    Morning stewby

I know what you mean about shopping, I am currently avoiding going to as many shops as possible to prevent the temptation. I'm sure you'll be strong and not spend though as you are doing so well! (You wouldn't want to ruin it would you ;) ).

A good tip I saw on here was to ask yourself, do I really want it? If yes, then think do I need it? And if yes again, can I afford it? If I thought this every time I saw something I wanted then I'm sure question 2 and 3 would usually be a no.

Hope you have a lovely lunch

Hope you had a nice afternoon without getting too spendy.

Am sure the paperwork mistake won't be a problem, it's easy to do things slightly the old way when you start a new job but once you're used to how its done at the new place you'll be fine.
